I was born and raised in Atlanta, but have lived most of my adulthood in Charlotte, North Carolina. Coincidentally I ended up right where my roots are on my father's side of the family. Genealogy is my passion and I never met a cemetery I didn't like. I'm also into historic preservation, both of buildings and the lives of people no longer with us.|
As the daughter of a general and great-granddaughter of 3 Confederate veterans, I like to note military records of veterans on their findagrave memorials.
I welcome corrections/additions, but will no longer link to a "burial unknown" person. I have found this leads to duplicates.
FAMILIES ON MY FATHER'S SIDE: Irwin, DeWeese, Blackwelder, Babcock, Taylor, Wilbon.
FAMILIES ON MY MOTHER'S SIDE: Bryan, Battle, Pope, Atkinson, Yarbrough, Chappell.

|April Cothran ||Annie Mar Toups Quate|
My name is April Cothran and my Great Grandmother on my Mothers side is Annie Mae Toups. She had two daughters Elvata and Marion before she married a Quate in Charlotte NC. I have my Grandmothers birth certificate and she is not a twin. Margaret was her step daughter who happened to be the same age as Marion. Anyway, Annie ended up giving Marion up for adoption. Elvata was kidnapped by her Dad, I also have that newspaper article. Anyway, it's really no biggy I just thought you might want to change it. Annie Mae was married twice to a Davis first and then a Quate.

Hi Susan! Hope all is well… thanks so much for the photo of James and all the updates you've sent lately to memorials I maintain. Wanted to tell you that if you are related in any way to the people you sent an edit for then let me know… I'd be happy to transfer them to your care. I'm not related to those you've sent recently. Take care and thanks for all you do! Blessings, Dana

I was researching my Mother's side of my family and came across the find a grave for my Grandmother and Grandfather. Thank you so much for the picture and contribution. I live out of state and I have not been able to visit their grave. You don't know how much this means to me that someone took the time to take a photo and submit it. It brought tears!! Thank you again!
...for fulfilling photo request of Miles West Moss. Very much appreciated.

Thank you so much for documenting the gravestone of my father. Sharon Memorial ordered his marker and his name was spelled wrong and nobody caught it until I saw it on the find a grave website. Thank you! They since have ordered a new one and said that it is now spelled correctly. Could you possibly update the picture?

I heard back from City of Charlotte, and they do not have his death date on file. They only know that his cremains were interred on March 1, 2011. They also do not have his cremation date, or birthday. So, not a lot of help there. I believe your information is correct, and that the funeral home marker is incorrect. Last time I looked, he did not have a stone marker. I will post your edits and add this information, in case a relative comes across it.

Thank you for taking picture of my grandfather's grave. He was my grandfather on my father's side. I never know who was his first wife Dell. She died before my father was married to my mother.
|chevydelray55||Sgt Daniel Allison Cariker|
I've been working on my maternal aunt's husband's family. She and Frank Sweeney Cariker have one biological child...my first cousin, Coleman McLean Cariker. Sgt Daniel Allison Cariker is Coleman's second great-grandfather. I see that you have created a memorial that is a duplicate. Were you aware of that? I would like to keep working on linking this part of my family tree together. Can you check the dates on this memorial and memorial #32392358 Sgt Daniel Allison Cariker?
Thank-you in advance for your time.
