Bio and Links
Bio Photo My sources for making memorials are
1. The old newspapers at Kentuckiana Digital Library Home
2. Lincoln County, Kentucky Genealogy
3. Rootsweb Presents Kentucky Death Records
4. Lincoln County, Kentucky Tombstone Inscriptions & 1850 Census by Shirley Dunn
(Memorials have been made for everyone listed in this book except for a few that had no death dates)
5. Bicentennial History of Waynesburg, Kentucky and Southern Lincoln County (Memorials have been made for everyone listed in this book except for a few that had no death dates)
6. Pulaski County KY Cemetery Records, 3 vols.

I include as much information on the memorials that I can find so others that are searching can determine if it is the correct person they are looking for. A memorial with name, birth & death dates isn't always enough information to determine if it's the right person you are looking for. Some birth dates I have taken from the age of a person in their obituary which isn't always correct and just because dates are written in stone doesn't always mean they are correct either. I have come across some obituaries that gives a different burial location than the tombstone inscription books or the cemeteries listed at Lincoln County Genealogy.

~~~~The newspaper images at Kentuckiana Digital Library are in the public domain and can be used on Find A Grave. They ask that credit be given to the Kentucky Digital Library as the source for the images. For those who want to use these newspapers go to Kentuckiana Digital Library Home and click on newspapers. ~~~
For the people that think you need a picture of the tombstone for every memorial - not everyone has a tombstone and this is not Find A "Tombstone." Sometimes the only way to Find A "Grave" is from an obituary. Many tombstones have been removed from cemeteries that were on farmland because the land was later used for farming and tombstones have been damaged or destroyed by farm animals and people. Some old cemeteries have been bulldozed so the land can be used for something else. I even read about a woman that removed a tombstone from one cemetery and put it in another cemetery. This is one of the reasons why I try to do as much research as I can on the memorials I make. Many contributors require proof of relationship before links are made. I consider birth, marriage, obituaries and family relationships that are included on my memorials as proof of relationship.
I am only notified when photo requests for tombstone pictures are fulfilled but not when others are added to the memorials and I "really appreciate" all of them BUT if they can't be read because they are covered with dirt, grass & leaves they are of little use. Please take the time to clean the bird poop, dirt, leaves & grass off so the stone can be presentable.
James Naylor
Thank you so much for all the information that you have researched and added to the Find a Grave Memorial # 117089160 for James Smith Naylor. James was the son of William Naylor b. 1840 KY and Mary Ann "Annie" Blankenship b. 1840 KY per James birth certificate. James was married to Mollie Hixson who was a sister to my great great grandfather. So you have helped me to add more information to my family tree. James and Mollie had several children: Agnes Thelma Naylor Pence 1900-1921, Jasper C. Naylor 1903-1945, Earl James Naylor 1904-1952, and Lucy F. Naylor born about 1910. How sad for James that he outlived most of his children.
Thanks again for all your work at Find a Grave. Joanne
Transfer Management
Would you transfer Ila Trowbridge #135860410, Johnson Trowbridge #135860573, Moses Trowbridge #135860543, and Peggy K Trowbridge #135860353? Lee Trowbridge was my maternal grandfather. Grandpa always received his mail at a Eubank address but they paid their property taxes in Lincoln County. I am sure that the cemetery is in Lincoln County not Pulaski County. Thanks for adding the family cemetery to Find A Grave. Thanks, ClaraRae Haught #48260778
Treisa A Brown.
your # 132212571 appears to be the same person as my Theresa Alice Green Brown Brummet. Theresa is also #Find A Grave Memorial# 130261077 that is my 1st cousin twice removed. What's the best way to get these two graves connected?? I have her parents and siblings. Will you transfer to me please?
Gossett Cemetery
Hello Joyce, Are you still active with Gosset Cemetery? We were there in 1992 looking for my husband's ancestor . . . and while we were there I copied as many old stones as I could. I added them to the cemetery a few months ago.
We are up in years and I don;t want to leave them in limbo. Would you mind if I transferred them to you. Most are children, so doubt that you will receive any inquiries. GLLinmanMoore (secretary for my husband!!)
Would you be willing to accept about 8 memorials from this cemetery. We copied the information when we were there visiting my ancestor gr grandmother Elizabeth Judy's grave -- so I added what we found. These are mostly children I think, I haven't had any edits for them. Don't want to get too many to manage as I am getting up in years and don't want to leave some in limbo should anything unforseen happen to me.
Cemetery find
I had been looking for my 2nd great grandparents for more than 10 years. John Green Lynn b. 1790 in Va. d. 1850. Wife Jane "Jennie" Leach b.1796 no death date. I saw a Lynn Cemetery and among the stones were the names of some of their family.
A list of people buried there showed a John and Jane and 4 unknown stones. I was tickled beyond belief. I just knew 2 had to be John Green Lynn and his wife Jane "Jennie" Leach. She was the daughter of Matthew Leach and Polly Gullett. Thanks for all you do in finding lost relatives.
I now have a resting place to put down besides their names. I plan on going to the cemetery and see the place myself. A picture is on Lincoln Co. cemeteries under Lynn with an address.
thanks again,
Liz Kernen
Birth year for Wm. S. Rossell
Hi Joyce, While working on my Peyton lines, I noted that you have William S. Rossell's birth year as 1869. I believe it is 1859, since he's shown as a one year old, in the 1860 Lincoln Co. census, and a 10 year old in 1870. Since Ancestry is now picking up Findagrave sites as sourceful data, thought you'd like to relook at this.
