Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Jeff Goodwin. I have been researching my family history now for over 30 years. It started as a class project in the seventh grade and has grown from a hobby into one of my life's passions. I have a website

for family and friends to view. Over the years I have had several family members ask for copies of different "branches of our tree". I hope that you will find it interesting, informative and user-friendly. Please let me know of any additions, corrections or omissions. I have tried to ensure its accuracy as much as possible.
Some of the lines I have been tracing are:

Goodwin, Skinkle, Ingram, Dupree, Gaston, Gray, Wyatt, Bishop, Sullivan, Daniel and House.

To anyone who has transferred a memorial to me of my family, or even someone whose family I was studying for historical reasons, THANK YOU!!

Lives are commemorated - deaths are recorded - families are reunited - memories are made tangible - and life is undisguised. This is a cemetery.

Communities accord respect, families bestow reverence, historians seek information and our heritage is thereby enriched.

Testimonies of devotions, pride and remembrance are carved in stone to pay warm tribute to accomplishments and to the life - not death - of a loved one. The cemetery is homeland for family memorials that are a sustaining source of comfort to the living.

A cemetery is a history of people - a personal record of yesterday and a sanctuary of peace and quiet today. A cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering - ALWAYS.

Lastly, I am so thankful that we have a Heavenly Father that allows our journey not to end with the burial of a body, but carries us to our heavenly body to spend eternity with Him.

Lorenzo Wyatt
I went to Prater Cemetery and there is no marker for Lorenzo Wyatt. There are many graves marked with only a stone.

The name is also Prater Cemetery as per obits and Ray Johnson, caretaker of the cemetery whose grandparents are buried there.

Jeff, I emailed you at the address you provided. This is very exciting to find each other. I have never found anyone on that side of the family to discuss genealogy with. I'm so glad you contacted me. I've been doing our family history for over 20 years and so everything I have on this part of the family has been done with long distance research and steady digging.

I would be happy to transfer but they are family members of mine. Maybe we can work together to make these memorials as nice as possible. Thank you so much,

RE: Dean Weaver
It was my pleasure To help you Jeff. The cemetery had said they didn't have a record of him or where he was located... But being the optimist I am ...I searched anyway. Thanks for your note. Kathy

Goodwin, Fanie
Went back by Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery and still didn't see any evidence of the lower section of the marker. Sorry, sure wish I could have had better news.

RE: Fanie McGill Goodwin
A Lilie Mae Barnes if you enlarge the bottom photo you should be able to see the marker. I am afraid Miss Fanie Goodwin's marker may have been moved because of the way it was laying on the ground with no lower section close by. I'll be out there again next week and I'll take a closer look.
