Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing genealogy for over 18 years. Been married for 50 years, have 2 daughters, and 3 grandchildren. Am so glad to share this info and pictures with families of those I have listed. Genealogy is all about helping each other--a two-way street. Grave stones are one of the best ways to locate family information. There is now a trend to only use years on stones....please do what you can to keep this from happening so future researchers will be able to get complete dates.

Yeah I was able to follow all those links backand was wondering if the H in James may have also stood for Hugh, but no I don't have any of them in mine. Either. I have traced My HUgh's parents back to Elizabeth and Eli Haynes and have found him listed with Wilkerson Haynes as a brother, but other relatives tell me that Hugh was illegitimate and was raised by his mother's parents, the Hyaneses, so this would make Wilkerson his uncle instead of his brother and they say they have a will of Elizabeth's that Mentions Hugh as her grandson in what she leaves him. I don't know much about Hugh or his son Preston. My grandfather died in 1954, 11 years before I was born, so thats why I have been doing all this research. Maybe one day we will find our connection. Maybe James H is the connection. Thanks for your time.

Hey I was wondering if you were related to any of the Hayneses from Polk and Rutherfordton Counties around the Lake Lure and Mill Springs area. I ask because I noticed several Hugh Hayneses in your list. My great great grandfather was Hugh Haynes, though none of the ones you listed, but we know little about him like where he came from or where he is buried and thought maybe he or yours were named after the same Hugh. Mine had a son Preston and a daughter Katherine ( Rhodes)and married Tabitha NcClure. Thank You Kevin

RE: Kathleen S Dills
Hi Rachel. I have been working on Pisgah in Lincolnton trying to get the old section on Find A Grave. It is a slow process as some of the grave stones are badly deteriorated.
You say someone put Kathleen in the Gaston County Pisgah Church Cemetery, well that someone was you. Now that you know she is in the Pisgah Methodist Church Cemetery in Lincoln County, are you going to delete her from Gaston County? I would like to link her to her parents, but with her having two memorials, that will make her show twice on her parents memorials.
I'm sorry to hear you don't make it back to Lincoln County much anymore as I know there are many Haynes is the area. I do pray all is well with you.

Sue

Thomas Grayson MCKILLOP
Could anyone help me get a photo of Thomas Grayson McKillop's stone and a copy of his obituary?

I have been told by the director of cemetery this is a military stone but I can not find an application on line for the stone.

dates: 2/15/1893
death 12/7/1976

I am presently working on a Transylvania County, NC and WW I book. I have obtained all NC Service Record Cards from the Archives and have found this fellow is one of my subjects. I would like to include with his Service Record Card a brief bio of his life after the war, an obituary and a photo, preferably military, but will accept any photo. If you can help me with any of the information or give me a contact that may be able to help please contact me .

Thank you

Macedonia Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery
Hi Rachel. Are you the creator of Macedonia Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery in Catawba County? If you are, would you be willing to add a note in the address section of it?

RE: Jack William Scronce
No, I'm not related, but thanks for the offer. I had noticed where someone had put Jack's parents names under the "Leave flowers or note" tab. I have noticed them doing this on other memorials. I don't know why they don't just ask for them to be linked.

Thanks for linking the parents.

Thank you for confirming that my wife and I correctly deciphered the two death certificates for Susannah. We studied them until we were confident that both were for the same woman. We are glad to have our conclusion confirmed.

Peter Harmon Duplicate
Hi Rachel,

I checked the two Peter Harmon memorials. Yours is for Peter Harmon, son of John Harmon and Mary Hovis, who married his cousin Rachel Harmon, daughter of Peter Harmon and Sarah Goforth.

My Peter Harmon, father of Rachel, is the Uncle (and father-in-law) of your Peter Harmon. They are not duplicates.

Jim
