I retired as an elementary school principal in 2000. As a person that sleeps only 4 hours a night that leaves 20 hours to fill. Sitting home is not an option. Now, I drive a school bus 5 hours a day and visit cemeteries every chance I get. I have never been to a cemetery that charged admission and seldom is there a crowd. My wife, Sandra, is of a like mind so it works well. We both enjoy the hunt and the thrill that comes with each discovery. Let us know if we can help. If you have additional information on one of my post or you are a relative and want ownership, I will gladly transfer it to you. Just ask. Oh! By the way just call me Doc!|
NOTE: Many times the family plot has names different from those on the headstone. I always attempt to provide a reference point for markers. Hope this is not confusing.
It is good to remember the following when on burial grounds:
"Tread softly, dreams are buried here." Unknown
Cox / Lowe

Thank you Mr. Jordan,
That's an honor , is there anything special I need to do?, Richard LIGHTFOOT was her husband . Tell me are there anymore LIGHTFOOT's buried there?
Hello, i was surprised to see a picture of my Gr-Grandmother Louise Lightfoot, on her tombstone in Crawfordville Ga. At the Battery Bapt.Church.
being she was African American i didn't know they would do that. i was wondering how it was possible.?.That must've cost some money.

Richard, the photos you posted on James Wesley Brown's memorial (85274849), actually should be posted on James Woody Brown's memorial (132601283). Both gentlemen are in Gaston Memorial Park with similar names. Could you correct this? Thanks!

LOL I am always happy to help where I can, Doc.
I think you have given me permission in the past to use your headstone photos, but could not nail down which one(s). I have found several more I would like to use in my tree on Ancestry. If you give me permission, I will give you credit for them. (I'll make a note this time so I won't have to bother you next time I find one).
Thank you very much for making such great contributions to Find A Grave!

What an excellent write-up in today's paper on you and the work you've done for Find a Grave.
You're a good example of the mutual assistance and camaraderie that exists on this site!
|Brian Duckworth||Richard A McCorkle's Page|
Thank you for posting Richard's marker. I placed it for him in November of 2008. Could I have ownership of the page? I would appreciate it. He was my GG Grandpa and was wounded at Pickett's Charge on Day 3 at Gettysburg. He survived.
|Brian Duckworth||Nancy Harris McCorkle|
Thank you for posting Nancy's grave on here. I would like to have ownership of her page if that is all right. The link is:
I am her GG Grandson, Brian Duckworth.
I set her stone up on 1/1/2009. She was previously unmarked, but the church allowed me a spot to put up a stone.
