Daughter of Earl & Betty(Parrish) Martin. I'm doing research on my relatives Martin(from Wayne County KY),Griffin(Parrish,Parish,Paris,Parris)(Woods,Wood)|
Looking for info on Milton Finley from Garrard Co Ky. His family lived in Brandy Springs Garrard County, Ky in the 1800's. His family disappears after 1880. Only my grandmother Bettie Ann and her brother Huston Finley I can find. Anything will help.

I added a short death notice to Emerson's memorial. If you would like a copy of the clipping just let me know. I am also transferring the memorial over to you as I am not related. Deb
|Spaceman Spiff||RE: Hello|
Thanks for your assistance. Actually, I've seen his name spelled multiple ways. And in looking at the memorial just now, I see that someone added a headstone photo to it since the last time I looked at it. Looks like the photo was added last April. And even though the stone is damaged, you can still make out that the spelling is actually ERVIN, which doesn't match either of the spellings I put in the Name field. Go figure! :-)
For my memorials I always give weight to the spelling that's actually on the stone. Otherwise, if someone else visits the cemetery with intentions of adding new memorials to FindAGrave, and they run a search with the spelling from the stone without finding any listing, then it runs the risk of them adding a duplicate memorial.
So, I'm going to accept your edit but then will immediately change the spelling to Ervin to match the headstone. The other spellings will still be listed in his bio.
Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks again for the help.
Happy New Year!

Hi, While researching my James family, I found a listing with what appears to be an incorrect family link. According to KY birth and death records, this child is actually Frances Pauline Siler, 5 Nov 1926-5 Oct 1927. She was a child of Virgil Siler and Bertha Dunham. The family that you have as his parents were too young. Henry Garland Siler was born 1913 and Corda 1916. Henry and Corda did have a child named Paul, but he was Paul H, born 1935 and died 1995. I wonder if you can add the info for her husband and daughter that are on the same stone. Thanks, Janis Webb Babb
|Shirley Hammons Smith||Martin's|
My (ex) husband) - now deceased - was a descendant of Sarah Martin who married William Monroe Smith. They lived in the Waynesburg, Lincoln Co. area.

The Tombstone Inscription book can be purchased from the Library in Stanford, KY. There are a lot of Martin's in it but he wouldn't be in there if he had no tombstone. What's his name and when did he die? Maybe I could find something on him in the old newspapers.
|Steve Trudgeon||RE: Hi|
I knew Bear, but I don't know when he was born. Thank you for adding the information to his memorial.
