Thanks to all the people that have transferred memorials of my family members to me. I want to wish everyone a very healthy and prosperous 2015|
I thought I might borrow what Jeff Gonyea on his Find a Grave profile:
"We don't "own" the memorials we manage - they are not ours. We may create them, we may update them, we may transfer them to others - we are but stewards. They are Find A Grave memorials of human beings, departed. They are not "friends" on a social media network website to be collected like baseball trading cards. And there's no prize for the one who dies with the most.
The reward (for me) comes from maintaining the most accurate and dignified memorials I can. What we record becomes history, and a record in someone else's family tree. We have a responsibility to do a good job of it. It's a privilege and honor."
Well put Jeff

That's fine to use the photo. Thanks for asking. I've transferred the memorial to you as you obviously have a connection.
|Sue Thompson Patterson||Ola Sullivan|
Thank you so very kindly for the additional information for Ola's bio. It has been added. I would like to thank you for adding Jeff Conyea's comment to your bio. Those words are my sentiments exactly. I wish Find A Grave would not give awards for numbers, and if you create a memorial, you must keep an open address for corrections and/or additions. I am a researcher for our local historical cemetery and am creating a new roster with correct and accurate data as well as linking local family members buried in our cemetery. When I find information on some of those who just create a memorial for numbers sake, I can get no response and have to go through Find A Grave headquarters to get something posted or deleted. It is such a hassle, and, in fact, I feel that mass creations should not be allowed. Oft times there is so much incorrect information that for an historical record of a life lived and now gone, it is a pitiful offering and does a great injustice to the relatives and to the person memorialized. Kudos to you and other concerned researchers for your sincere concern and determination for honest and accurate contributions.

My great grandmother Catherine Hilterbrand was George Marshall Clark's second wife. (Actually my great-aunt Mattie Clark Fanning told me George had married when about 17, but his wife had died on wagontrain. She did not know her name.) He later married my great grandmother. After her death he married Annie and they had three sons, Jim Thomas, Joel and George, Jr. Hope this clears up confusion.

Thanks for sending the newspaper clipping about Jack's death.

Thanks for the heads up. Fixed it.

You are more than welcome to use photos from her Findagrave page on your family tree. Just give me credit as well as Peggy Young, Carolyn's daughter from whom I got the photo. Sorry it has taken me over a year to respond. I am playing the death in the family card. Haven't done any genealogy for two years. How do you know Carolyn's middle name is Florence. I would like a source.

the Photos on the Hartl and Freeman links has a problem I can't fix. When I go to the index and click on the Wasniewski's, Haertle and Freeman come up. That is probably what happened in the first place and I didn't catch it. I'll work on it but may need to contact Find A Grave

I have added the parents of Mary to her Find A Grave site. I'm thrilled because she is my 4th great grandmother. I'd appreciate any information you may have on her family so I can begin researching them. L. Henley, TX
