I have been working on our family tree for about 2 years. I recognize how exciting and valuable it is to be able to find photos of gravestones for family members. Sometimes a gravestone can open a door to the past. | |

 | RE: Alonzo Verrill The burial plot is unknown. If you access to Ancestry.com (available in libraries) look for MN Civil War Soldiers data base:
Surname: Verrill Given Name and Rank: Alonzo Pvt Age: 40 Induction Date: 18 Aug 1862 Regiment: F EIGHTH Birth Place: America Town of Residence: Hastings County of Residence: Dakota State of Residence: Minn Notes: DIED AT LITTLE ROCK, ARK
I also did NOT find him in the US National Cemetery Interment Control Form. Per Little Rock National Cemetery info: "The government purchased the military plot in Little Rock City Cemetery as two parcels: 9.1 acres in September 1866 and 3.2 acres in April 1868. On April 9, 1868, it was designated a national cemetery with the stated purpose to concentrate remains of Union dead who had been buried throughout Arkansas. By this time, there were 5,425 interments: 3,092 known dead and 2,333 unknowns. In 1868, 1,482 remains removed from area battlefield graves were reinterred here."
Best information would indicate he is in one of the 2,333 unknown burial locations.

 | Leonard Witherby - Essex Jct VT Heidi, I have added a couple of photos to Leonard Witherby's Find A Grave memorial in response to your photo request. Also added photos to the memorial page for his wife. See photo captions for inscription information as the stones are very difficult to read. Hope this helps.
Best regards, Lynn | | | J_Davis

 | Dana,,, I just looked at his wife's memorial and I see that she is buried with Lyman. I know exactly where that is as I did pics for Lyman's memorial.
When I get a chance I can take a quick look and see. | | | Christina
 | RE: Dana White Thanks. Yes, Oakland is very well marked and I know exactly where Dana should be but there was nothing there. I can look at where his wife is to see if that is where he is. Let me know what you find out.
Thanks!

 | Dana White I just wanted to let you know that I looked everywhere for Dana; did Oakland happen to mention if she has a marker?

 | Singley Memorial I would be pleased to manage Robert's memorial #79473834. He is my father's first cousin. We visited Pennsylvania nearly every summer when I was little and got to play with our second cousins until I was a teenager. I have only been back for a few funerals since then, but am coming to Lewisburg and Turbotville next month. | | | | [View all messages...] |
