I am a graduate of Mount Pleasant High in Providence R.I. I enlisted in Air Force and spent most of my time overseas.I am a Vietnam Vet and spent 10yrs with the Air National Guard.I retired after 40yrs with Pratt & Whitney as a jet engine inspector and the last 10yrs as an FAA inspector for the company.I have been researching my family tree as a hobby.I walk a lot of historical cemeteries looking for my ancestors final resting place.I take a lot of photos and clean up some plots of the family when I find them.My mothers side of family (Whitford)dates back to the 1600's.They are called swamp yankees around here.I have many historical cemeteries located a short distance from my house.I recently became involved with Pocasset cemetery in Cranston.I only live 2 miles from their.I do a lot of cleaning of grave sites and take photos as I go.I started a page on facebook for the cemetery if anyone is interested.I use ancestry.com for the info I enter on the bios.If you find a error please send me a note and I will correct it. News flash:As a result of all my work at this cemetery they have put me on as a board member.I will try and fill out more photo request when I figure out the filing system which is very old. | |

 | RE: Pocasset I think I know the types you mean - there were a ton of the numbered stones, from what I remember. They seem easy to get lost, removed, buried, etc. Thanks for your efforts. | | | Virginia Meadowcroft
 | Richmond Stone at Pocasset As always, thank you George for the Stone photos. | | | typewriter
 | RE: Pocasset Thanks. That was the daughter of the woman named on the stone. I suspected this was the case; nice to know for sure. One last one I have for this cemetery is an infant - Bertha A. Kelley, DOD May 15, 1898. Thanks! | | | typewriter
