Joseph Berry
This is in regards to Joseph Berry, Find A Grave# 41850083 in the Dallas Park Cemetery in Ridgway, Colorado. Joseph was my great great grandfather and I have been on a quest to get his name corrected on the memorial. His name was just Joseph Berry, not Joseph Scudder Berry II. You will not find him on any records; census, marriage certificate, death certificate or tombstone with the middle name Scudder or even an initial. He did name his son Joseph Scudder Berry but no one in the family knows where the Scudder name came from. It is not in the Berry family as far back as we can trace. His grandson Glenn Wesley Berry thought perhaps it came from the Kise side of the family but since that line is a dead end we'll never know. The name was added by a very careless researcher who made an assumption and now has been perpetuated by far too many people. I have contacted Larry H, who now maintains the memorial, on several occasions to try and get it removed but he refuses to do so. He suggested I contact you to find out the source for the information or where it came from. I hope you might be of some help in getting it removed so people will stop using it.
Thanks for listening,
Pat Foster Osborn

I am not sure if you are aware, however, please check the edit tab on your profile page. As that is where any new SAC are going to appear. I have sent you several over the past month.

Lydia Beckley - Dallas Cemetery
Please delete your Lydia Beckley as you don't have all the correct information for her. She was a great great aunt on both my Maternal Grandmother and Paternal Grandfather's side of the family.....I'm related to her. I'm not deleting mine as I have the entire family listed from Dallas Cemetery in Ridgway, CO.

Thank you.......

RE: Rose gravestone photos
You are very welcome, I know that I am lucky to have so much of my own ancestry right here in the town that I still live in so I enjoy helping others who live far away that perhaps would never be able to visit the graves of their loved ones.
My Dad always wanted to do all of this research but he never got the chance to before he passed away so I do the research especially for him, myself and for both of my daughters because I hope that they carry on with all of the knowledge that I have found for them about their ancestors.
Since I spoke to you last I have found that you and I are related through Emily Croley Rose as well because Richard Cobb Caswell Croley is my 3rd great grandfather, on Memorial Day I went to the cemetery where Richard is buried & it is very close to where Benjamin Rose is buried. The one that Richard is buried in is very grown up & we had to do alot of walking I took many photos while I was there but the heat got to me and I had to leave before I could take photos of all the graves though the land owners tell me there is going to be a road built to the cemetery soon which will make access much easier. I added new names & photos to both the Rose cemetery and the Croley cemetery where Richard is buried. If there is anything that I can help you with just let me know.

George Coffin #51608588
Iam so sorry for the confusion. I'd been working on the Holmes side so got confused. Updated info on George Lee Coffin is B: 30 Dec 1893 D: 10 Nov 1910. The death date on stone is incorrect because his buddy carved it wrong. Verified by death certificate. Thanks so much! Ladean

RE: Foster and Rutherford Photo Requests
You are VERY welcome for the information. You're correct in why we do this, these little mysteries is what makes this very interesting, especially when folks like yourself share them with others. I am very pleased that I could assist you in your family quest and hopefully, provide enough or some information that will enable you to take another step toward finding another family member. Best regards to you and good health, Dana.

Foster and Rutherford Photo Requests
I was out at Old School and was able to meet with someone from the church who showed me the Cemetery Plot map. There is no George Foster listed on the map. That doesn't mean that he is not there, at least that is what the Church Representative said. There is a S. Foster buried next to a M Foster. The headstone is not legible, but we did go by the map, and this M Foster stone lines up perfectly. Right next to these two Fosters are two more Rutherfords, George and Anna M. I hope you find this information helpful, let me know if there is anything else you may need.

Foster and Rutherford - Old School Baptist
Spent the day at Olde School Baptist and looked for your requests for FOSTER - no luck in finding them. I did however, find the RUTHERFORDS, those photos have been uploaded. I was able to get a phone number for the cemetery and I will see if I can confirm Foster and try to get a location. Hope you are feeling better - Dana

RE: Berry Family in Colorado
I am more concerned that your health is improving than your speed on replying to requests. Hopefully you are getting better. Larry
