|I'm maintaining the genealogy information on my ancestors.|
By doing this I came across Find A Grave and discovered what a wonderful site it is. I have found some of my relatives on this site and thought I would return the "favor" and add other people's relatives to this site.
Each memorial I have put up, family ties or not, have been to honor those who have passed on before us. My family memorials are to help others researching the same lines.
I also have started photographing and documenting cemeteries to help connect family members to their research names and to help preserve the cemeteries.
I will be more than happy to add in links, updates and further information to any memorial. I am also more than happy to transfer memorials outside of my family.

|dcp||Coates graves in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, Va|
Today I went to Elmwood Cemetery to try to fulfill your photo request for graves of David, Herbert and Mary Coates. Most grave records in Elmwood and the adjacent Cedar Grove Cemetery were destroyed by fire in the 1930's. Both cemeteries are very old and have been vandalized extensively over the years. The records which do exist are cross referenced by plot resident and owner/purchaser of the plot. Looking through both, I was not able to locate the graves.
I did find records of David, Herbert and Mary's burials, however, and here is what I found:
David Coates died on 1.14.1919 in Eastern State Hospital (which I believe is in Williamsburg, VA)at the age of 71 of Paralysis.
Herbert Coates died on 6.22.1886 at the age of 23 at Mayfield of Typhoid.
Mary Coates died at the age of 67 of Cancer at 1501 DeBree Ave., in Norfolk.
I did not "report a problem" or remove your photo request from the F.A.G. website, but you may want to. Sorry I could not be of more help finding these graves.

|Hubert Knauff, Jr.||Lizzie Arnold, Butler Cem.|
Did not find a LIZZIE ARNOLD in Butler Cemetery. The only ARNOLDs listed in "The Cemeteries Of Grady County"(2006) are all in Cairo (City) Cemetery, with one exception: ELIZABETH ARNOLD (1880-1968) is listed in the book in White Springs Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery on Hadley Ferry Road, just a couple of miles south of Cairo. All the others in the Cairo Cemetery are in SECTION C, ROW 5, at MARKERS 4, 5, 6, & 7, and SECTION C, ROW 6, at MARKER 7. Nearly all died before or in the early 1900s. The one that made it to 1951 was named ROBERT MCDONNELL ARNOLD. Unless LIZZIE was "moved" to Butler Cemetery from somewhere else recently, I didn't see her or in the "Addendum 2011."
|Eva Mullins||James Marcus Anderson|
Judy, can you please add Jesse B. Anderson and wives and Willie Lanier Anderson & wife as sons to James Marcus Anderson's page. They are also buried in the Anderson Cemetery.
Sincerely, Eva Mullins
|A. Roller||Lomie Rathel|
Lomie Rathel is very confusing me. She married my ggg grandfather, Charlie Sube Thompson. I originally thought she was of the Rathel family buried around there but now I'm perplexed. I know there is a Lonie Rathel....if there are related then they must have been twins, born on the same day.
|Martha Sellers Bryson||Ida Braswell|
Newer grave next to Randall Braswell. Could this be Ida? I have listed it as Unknown Braswell as it is still unmarked.
|Renee DeLisle & Will Lawrence||Otts' in Oakwood Cemetery in Montgomery Alabama|
We have been looking for the Otts' you have listed for the Montgomery area. We have spoken to the sexton several times to make sure we were looking in the correct location, we were. We were there again today and took an overview of the area they are buried in, but there are no markers for them. The only Otts' in the area are William and Laverne. This area does not have many graves marked. If you want we can place the overview of the area on the sites requested, but will await your reply.
Renee & Will
Last name is Ellingsworth. You omitted the s.

This stone is very difficult to read, but we think it may be the correct one. If not, let us know and we will remove it.
|Sara and Harvey Causey||Odom graves|
There is a child size concrete gravestone slab just to the right of Geraldine Odom. We took a photo that shows the 3 graves, but weren't sure whether to post the child's grave photo or not. We saw a listing for Child Odom and could post if there. Since we are not related, we will do as you choose. Just let us know.
|CHRISTOPHER MORRIS||Williams Cemetery - Wrightsville|
Thanks so much for your posts.
The Williams Cemetery in Wrightsville is where my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th great grandparents are buried. It is off the old Bray property. I attended a "re-dedication" monument ceremony to Jasper Cochran (my 3rd great grand father) some years ago. I would like to visit it again soon.
My question is do you know if I could just go there, or need permission to visit from the landowner?
