We are Marj Nickell and Diana Sisson, the daughters of the late Smoky and Dixie (Hesher) Bogart of Gypsum, Kansas. Our parents were very much into genealogy not only of the family but also of Saline and surrounding counties. We neither one live close to Gypsum so we rely on our cousin, Ben Armbruster, to supply us with headstone pictures. We have only input data on family members in the Gypsum City Cemetery and St. Paul's/Stone Church Cemetery in Walnut Township of Saline County. Please leave a message if you have any questions or corrections to the data we have supplied.

Birth and death dates for John Tinkler
John Tinkler accompanied his older brother Thomas to the Pacific coast in 1852. Thomas returned alone 7 years later.
According to Dixie's Tinkler Geneology book, there is mention of John's birth and death dates in the "Bible". If you have access to this Tinkler Bible, please include this information in his father's memorial.
Thank you
Mary Lou Weddle

Kezia Tinkler, d: 1901
Kezia, who died at age 16, was my grandmother's sister (Martha Victoria Tinkler, married to Fortunatus Brooks Magruder). I just discovered this picture you posted of Kezia and it is almost eerie how much she looked like me! I would love to know any other information about her, including cause of death at that young age. Her whole family was in Gypsum, KS. If you know - or can refer me to someone who might - I would appreciate it. Thanks, Jill

name change; Herger/Hesher
My Grandmother [Otto's daughter Ella] told us it was a German vs English spelling. Which I found hard to believe.
FYI...........John's headstone is so deteriorated we're working to get a replacement. I'll post the photo once it's set.

I added an obituary for Martin's father John Herger. Do you have a photo of John Herger and/or any information as to why the Heshers changed their name from Herger ?

Hesher cousins
Your Mother is my Grandmother's cousin [Ella Mae Lemon]. FYI.........I'd sent you a request to add louisa Hesher to Kezia Tinkler's memorial. I didn't realize I could do it myself.
