|Storres Myers||RE: Mecum Flowers|
Thank you for the reply. This all started as a search for the final resting place of Rosena Garnhart and spouse John Mecum. It has turned into a real adventure. It appears that John had married four times if you count Catherine Houdashelt as the first. It appears that he married a woman, first name Phoebe, following the death of Rosena Garnhart. A John Mecum married a Minerva Nelson in 1865 (could be the origin of middle name of Johnathan Nelson Mecum). It also appears that Minerva Nelson had been married to a Daniel Gilbert and had children. The relationship to the head of household can be seen in the later census information. In fact, Geo. W. Mecum, a son of John and Phoebe, married Minerva following the death of his father John.
This is all very interesting and is confused by them living in Michigan for a period of time. Nothing gives me a hint as to where they attended church and possible burial grounds.--Storres

This is in response to your flowers on the infant Mecum memorial, Find A Grave Memorial# 88099289 I am searching for Adam Porter Mecum, born April 19, 1840 in Muncy, PA and lived in Middlebury IN. He moved with his family, father John Mecum and mother Rosena Garnhart to Indiana in 1849. Do have any information that will help me locate this family? Any help will be greatly appreciated.—Storres

|Robert Hoadley||Marriage photo of Burdit & Mary|
A woman where I work was cleaning house, and she knew I was into genealogy and antiques. She showed me a rather large framed marriage document for Burdit Mecum and Mary Lloyd. Marriage taking place 29 Sep 1892 at Lawrenceville, NY by Rev. Jas T. Matthews. In additions to photos of both the bride and groom, is one of the minister as well. It is rather lovely and in the original frame w/glass, nice colors but of course shows its age. Anyway, I told her I would try to track down a living descendant of this couple who might cherish this items if it is a direct ancestor, like a great or great great grandparent. Anyway, are you related to this couple or married to a relation? If I can find a direct descendant of this couple, the woman at work may be willing to give the item away if they just pay postage. I can send you a photo of the item also.
Sue,Can you recheck my Peck memorials? Chris

I have added photos to some Mecum graves in IOOF Cemetery in Orland, CA. I tried sending you an e-mail to the address listed in your profile, but perhaps you have changed your e-mail address. Please respond to firstname.lastname@example.org with your address and I can give you some additional updates to the Mecum graves in Orland.
