Bio and Links
Bio Photo In early 2015, the Golden Gate National Cemetery Photography Project completed its 3-year-long effort. The cemetery, located in San Bruno, San Mateo County, California, is now 98% photographed, with fewer than 2700 inscriptions to be photographed.

Since March 2015, I have been photographing the markers in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Colma, San Mateo County, California. Only 13% of the 350,000 markers there have been photographed. Many of the burials are reinterments from the now defunct Calvary Cemetery in San Francisco. Theresa Miller is helping me to post the photos. We are currently posting photographs in Section B, F, and G: For Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery the San Francisco Genealogy website is invaluable:

We add new memorials as need be and add missing information and links.

Please contact me if you have taken a better photograph of a headstone for a memorial (e.g., with better lighting), and I will be happy to remove my photo.

Golden Gate National Cemetery Credits:

FAG members Samme Templin, Theresa Miller, Christine S., and Cindy S. helped post the photos.

FAG contributor Stewart Blandon completed Section 2E. Stewart also created an excel spreadsheet for the burials in the cemetery that has been vital for the project. Stewart and Kathleen Clemence added plot information to memorials.

FAG contributor Kathleen Clemence completed Section R.

FAG contributor Christine and Winmar finished photographing and posting photos from Section MA.

Notes on the Golden Gate National Cemetery:

Section A: Redo north facing markers starting with A-133.

Section E: Contains markers for 45 graves of German and Italian prisoner of war from World War II; there also about 100 graves of servicemen who died between 1865 and 1910.

Sections O to V: Completed June through Sept. 2014. Section R completed by Kathleen Clemence.

Section 2B: The northwestern end contains a large percentage of infants and young children.

To be photographed: The half of Section CA nearest the main entrance (Sections CA-17 and CA-18 are also not done).

I am currently interested in the Brocher, Lahey, Williamson, Weber, and Grumann families of eastern Wisconsin, particularly Manitowoc County.

I am also researching Nuzum, Wright, Wheeler families of western Wisconsin.

Finally, I am researching Welch, Belden, Dunbar familiies of southeastern Minnesota.

RE: Dorothy King photo request
Hi Tom. There are three Dorothy Kings listed at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis IN. One of them has the same birth year and death year as your photo request. You could put in a photo request there. There is very little info on that memorial page.

RE: Elsie Riley Memorial #105122112
Thank you for your most generous offer. There is no rush as I have a lot of genealogy to keep me busy for quite a while.

Have a great Thanksgiving and holiday season.

RE: Nuzum gravestones
You're welcome.

Find a Grave photo requests are my exercise program! It helps that so many WV cemeteries are on hills.

RE: Ikuo and Toshi Matsuo photos
Tom..Well, yours was a very thoughtful Thank You message. I enjoy doing these requests and do try taking as good a photo as is possible. When I was at Ikuo's grave I saw his wife was next to him and even though there was not a request for her grave, I took a picture, as I usually do, and then check later. I did see that there was already a picture posted for her from another volunteer, but as it was not very good, I posted mine too. and I do like taking pictures of side by side graves showing a husband and wife buried together. I think it's nice to show that. But I also show the one grave along with that. Plus if there are leaves on the ground I like to put some around the graves to make it look nicer. So you are very welcome.

If you want any of the other Nuzum memorials I created, just let me know. As I said, I do not know them. Paul

Luella Nuzum
I deleted Raymond C. Nuzum as you suggested. I also linked Luella to her parents in Nebraska. She is buried beside a different Raymond Nuzum (i.e. not Caleb). Husband? I do not know the family and will transfer them if you are related.

RE: Dorothy King photo request
I also sent a note to the administrator. It doesn't always work. A great lady named Judie Custer gets all the photo requests at Washington Park East. I hope it gets fixed for you.

Dorothy King photo request
Dorothy King appears to have been buried at Washington Park East Cemetery not Memorial Park Cemetery.
