Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am an avid genealogist and have been researching my family and my husband's family for 35+ years. We have traveled quite a bit to find ways around my "brick walls" and have been to lots of cemeteries and taken lots of pictures. I'm glad to have a chance to share some of this information on Find A Grave. My husband, Jim, deserves credit for all of the pictures as he patiently visits cemetery after cemetery with me.

PLEASE if you find an error or have additional information on any of the people I have posted, email me. I will be glad to make additions and corrections so that the information is as accurate as possible.

I am doing Find A Grave work to honor our ancestors and, hopefully, to help others find information on their own ancestors. The pictures that we have taken may be used by families and descendants. However, pictures taken for 19th and 20th Indiana soldiers have been taken for the 19th Indiana web site of Phil Harris and may NOT be posted on other web sites without my permission.

Thanks to all of you who have posted information and photos on Find A Grave. This is a great way to preserve information, and in doing so, preserve our past.

I found this letter in the bio of Bobby Jett and had to add it to my bio as well. Genealogists do indeed feel this connection.

"Dear Ancestor"

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.

It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.

Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.

I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

I made the correction on the memorial for Ida Poteet Dutton. Thanks for telling me. I noticed you placed a picture on the memorial for Wendell Dutton. Just wondered what you connection might be. Wendell was married to my wife's older sister.

Dear Ancestor Poem.....
I read this Poem on Another Find a Graver's Profile page one day & asked his permission to copy it onto my Profile Page. Since then I have received several Positive Feedbacks & Requests :) I think that this Poem stirs the strings in Our Hearts because of the Genealogy we Love & Work with. Keep Up the Great Work & Know that Everything You Do on Find a Grave is Appreciated ! Cheers ! Skeety

Thank you so much for photographing the headstone for John Milton Cramer (1895-1897). Originally Findagrave listed him with an unmarked grave. Now I know when he was born and when he died. He mattered to his parents (my great-grandparents) and until I discovered him in census reports and family photos, I was unaware he ever lived. He is important to me, and I hope his sweet little soul knows how much he was loved and is now honored. Thank you again, Sharon Cramer Sceper

Thank You!
Thank you for the perfect photo you took at memorial 34456522. You must have scheduled your visit to be at the time of day when shadows on the stone would offer the greatest legibility. I wish all the photos on Find A Grave were half as good.

RE: Lavina Dye Staunton Cemetery
I realized that I miscalculated and tried to delete the suggestion before you got it. Sorry, it was my bad math.
