Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am an avid genealogist and have been researching my family and my husband's family for 35+ years. We have traveled quite a bit to find ways around my "brick walls" and have been to lots of cemeteries and taken lots of pictures. I'm glad to have a chance to share some of this information on Find A Grave. My husband, Jim, deserves credit for all of the pictures as he patiently visits cemetery after cemetery with me.

PLEASE if you find an error or have additional information on any of the people I have posted, email me or suggest an edit. I will be glad to make additions and corrections so that the information is as accurate as possible.

I am doing Find A Grave work to honor our ancestors and, hopefully, to help others find information on their own ancestors. I found this message on Beverly Sprowl Teibel's contribtor page, and it expresses my sentiments as well. "Find A Grave gives a voice to those who are not in the history books or the sports records. It lets us put our family, our true heroes who make us what we are and to an extent what we will become in the future, out there for the world to see and honor."

The pictures that we have taken may be used by families and descendants. However, pictures taken for 19th and 20th Indiana soldiers have been taken for the 19th Indiana web site of Phil Harris and may NOT be posted on other web sites without my permission.

Thanks to all of you who have posted information and photos on Find A Grave and to those who process the edits. This is a great way to preserve information, and in doing so, preserve our past.

I found this letter in the bio of Bobby Jett and had to add it to my bio as well. Genealogists do indeed feel this connection.

"Dear Ancestor"

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.

It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.

Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.

I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Yes, there is a monument in the Wilson Cemetery for Ivan, however, his second wife refused to have him buried there. She also destroyed almost all of his family photos according to one of his granddaughters. A few she gave to her family. It is a really sad situation. His children are trying to have him moved to Wilson Cemetery to lay beside their mother. I have not heard whether they have succeeded yet. When I find out, I will try to message you.

Just a quick question that I hope you can answer for me about my Great Uncle Ivan....I see you have him buried with the family in Wilson Cemetery, Ohio Co. KY. I was wondering if the family had succeeded in having him moved from Mt. Washington Memorial Cemetery, Bullitt Co. KY? I know that his children from his first marriage were really wanting him put beside their mother instead of their step-mother Jennie. I would really like to change my records to reflect the move. Thanks so much for your time and the memorial.

Thank you so much for your posts. Today we were able to take my 95yo Grandfather and 86yo Grandmother to see the memorials of his great grandparents! He himself was born in Winona, ID but had lost track of where they were buried as Winona doesn't exist anymore. She also from nearby non-existant West Lake. The cemetery is little more than a fenced area in tall grass out in the middle of nowhere. Thanks to this site, we were able to find out who else is buried there, as there are only 3 visible headstones of the 14 resting there. While our family has completed quite a lot of geneology, they were tickled to hear the details you had posted. This seemed to trigger more fun memories and info they shared. I will plan to post David & Eliza's picture soon as they are on their wall at home. Thanks again!

Thanks for the information. It's strange that the census has them listed as lodgers rather than mother and step-father. I fudged on the marriage dates in order to get the wives in the proper order.

Kenneth and his wife Virginia were my great aunt and uncle. You don't have them listed as husband and wife. Would you please do that for me.

RE: Augusta Belle Parsons Mallen
Dear J, or D... Three years later I stumbled upon your query. SO sorry! Do you have news re Aunt Belle Parsons? I'm still trying to learn of her mother - seems obvious to me that Clarissa Hecox Parsons is *not* her mother.

RE: John LaRose
Hope the volunteer is active. I am in the process of going through all of my 30,000 memorials researching, linking and adding death certificates. Half way there. I'm sure I don't catch all errors and that is why I appreciate edits such as yours. I am doing this hoping it cuts down on duplicates in the future. I get so upset when I have babies and can't find parents. Again, thanks
