Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi...I live in the southern tip of Ocean County, NJ, but can research graves in many areas of Atlantic Co, Cape May Co., and Cumberland Co. NJ. I take my 82 year old Mom out on our "adventures". We both love the history of our area and most things old. And Mom loves to get out of the house! LOL

If you would like a photo from a large cemetery, please help me find the grave by following the guidelines of Find A Grave and try contacting the cemetery for the exact location of your particular headstone. It would make it so much easier than looking at hundreds of headstones. Thanks!

Interesting site...about cemetery terms and their meanings. http://www.vintageviews.org/vv-tl/pages/Cem_Glossary.htm .

I'm not the one who created her memorial. It was a fellow Graver from the Los Angeles area that grew up on Long Beach Island, NJ. He wasn't familiar with all the little cemeteries in the Bass River Township. So I was just trying the help him with it. From What I could find out was that her parents were buried in the Cramer cemeteries and that she was probably there too.

RE: Cox and Parker Graves at West Creek Cemetery
I just got goosebumps from your last messages, especially considering the private email I just sent you! LOL I definitely need to make it up to New Jersey this year, as I want to see these places in person! So, Batsto is haunted - exciting! ;) I have several from Batsto in my Virtual Cemetery... I need to check and see if we might have any there that aren't listed here and/or don't have photos yet.

I, too, have loved cemeteries, especially older ones, since I was a child. My family also thinks I'm crazy that old cemeteries are my favorite places to visit when I travel! :)

RE: Cox and Parker Graves at West Creek Cemetery
Thank you for the info, Pat! I'm going through my list, and comparing what's listed on Find A Grave, to make more photo requests. Hopefully I can add them all before I reach my limit again ;)

You can only link families if you're the "owner" of the memorial - so a request can be sent to the owner to link, or to transfer ownership (ex: I had my grandparents memorials transferred to me).

I did notice that many in the Parker line are listed in ancestry.com as having been born in Parkertown, so I'm sure it's named after that family line. My direct line - the Sooy's - married into the Thompson, Parker, Cox and King lines, so they are all cousin relationships to me.

The history and stories behind genealogy and cemeteries is so interesting!

Thanks,
Kim

Cox and Parker Graves at West Creek Cemetery
Thank you so much for the photos you took at West Creek Cemetery of the Cox and Parker family graves!! I'm finding most of that family line listed at West Creek, but Find A Grave only allows so many requests to be submitted at once, so I wasn't able to put in requests for all of them before I hit the cut-off. Just wanted to mention that so if you see more from me you don't think "why didn't she list them all at once?" LOL

I LOVE this site and it's people like you that make it all worthwhile!!

RE: Dora Cramer
I'm not sure. I didnt create the memorial. As a genealogist, I've found out that family names change in spelling over the years either due to literacy of the family or the person recording the information. I know there are hundreds with the same last name in the Bass River Township Cemeteries. I wish the people creating these memorials would also take the photos too.
