I am an avid genealogist and appreciate the efforts of all of the volunteers on Find A Grave.
I travel around to various cemeteries researching my family but try to photograph other grave sites in an effort to add information for other researchers.
Please use the edit tab on the memorial to suggest corrections, request additional information be added, or to request a transfer.
I typically only take a day or two to process an automated edit while other requests could take much longer.
A special message to contributors:
It can be frustrating to wait 3 weeks for an edit to make it through the edit tab process. You can speed this process up by taking the following steps to process your edits.
1. Login to findagrave 2. Select Contributor Tools on the left 3. Under your name you will see an edits tab 4. Select edits tab 5. You can display edits you need to review or the edits you are waiting on others to take care of for you
In addition, if a person takes the time to transcribe and send an obituary to you for a memorial, and it is for the correct person and doesn't contain information that is detrimental to living persons, please be courteous and update the memorial. Many people depend on the information that is displayed on memorials for their research purposes.
Once a transcription for an obituary is placed on the memorial it becomes searchable through google whereas a photo of an obituary is only viewable if a person actually clicks and reads the memorial.
