I have been working on genealogy for about 25 years. I just found out about Find A Grave a few months ago. What a handy tool this is. I enjoy going around to different cemeteries looking at all the old headstones, and taking pictures for people who might not every see the headstonesof there ancestors if someone didn't take pictures for them.|
If anyone finds an error, please let me know and I will correct it. Also anyone who would like to add something, I can also do that for you.
For over 15 years I have been seriously researching my Gibbons family, with a beginning origin in South Carolina (Joseph Franklin Gibbons 1839 and still searching for information prior to that), also researching the Paris family (Rhoda Catherine Paris) from Spartanburg, South Carolina and the Giles families from that area.
From there the search has taken me into Harlan and Bell Counties in Kentucky, and surrounding counties in VA & TN, later on to Rockcastle and Lincoln Counties in KY also. In KY families that connect with our Gibbons are: Fee's, Green, Burkhart, Hensley, Wynn, Wilson and more.
My grandfather Andrew Jackson Gibbons was born in SC, was raised and married Margaret Fee in Harlan County KY. They raised their family in Lee Co. VA. Andrew Jackson Gibbons brothers are, James Giles, John Giles, Spurgeon Gibbons, Willie Gibbons, Campbell Gibbons, Frank Gibbons II and Nathan Gibbons. No known sisters.
If anyone has information of any of these families I would be very appreciative of anything you are willing to share.
I am also working on a register for Rose Hill Cemetery in Robinson, Kansas.

Would you please transfer Thelma's memorial to me as she is my husbands aunt. Also I have a more extensive bio to add regarding her long life. Thanks so much---Karen Mears
|Karen S. Lee||Sgt. Patricia Ann Leihy 125913282|
Mr. Gibbons, There is a little confusion in this memorial in that her last name is Williams but was not used on stone or your memorial. She has another memorial 125863238 that was entered the day before you entered it creating a duplicate. I was hoping you would consider deleting your memorial. Thank you in advance. Karen
|Renee McCoy Burrows||Ova Tallant McCoy memorial|
Just so you know, there was already a memorial (created since 2009), for Ova. The one you created should be deleted. It is managed by her granddaughter.
Thank you in advance.

Please turn over my mother in law to me. You had this going before I even had her in the grave. Now is the time to return her to her family.
thank you so much for your quick attention to this. kind regards

Please remove entry 172982279 for Julie Olcott Gibson. The date is wrong, the cemetery is wrong, the bio is in error. I have added to the correct info under my account (as i am her sister).
please reply to me asap regarding this.
|CCC||Alma Greenwood mistake|
I do apologize Mr Gibbons the message was not meant for you about Alma Greenwood. Yours was created after death and will be preferred over the preneed. I will send the contributor of the preneed a message and let her know and if she does not agree then Find a Grave administration will make the decision based on their FAQS.
I again am so so sorry for the mix up!

|CCC||RE: Alma Greenwood|
We are not to create memorials for living people. Yours was created while she was alive which is called a pre need. A memorial created after death will be preferred over a pre-need memorial. Please read the FAQ about this below.
FIND A GRAVE FAQ:
Is it acceptable to add a memorial for someone who is still living?
Please try to avoid it. In general, we do not encourage adding memorials for individuals who are still living. We do realize, however, that when transcribing a cemetery, it is not always possible to determine if the person is living or not. Memorials for individuals who are alive will be removed when requested. You are always welcome to create a 'pre-need' memorial for yourself, if you would like, provided that you have a pre-need headstone already in place in a cemetery. Given these exceptions, a memorial created after death will be preferred over a pre-need memorial.
