Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in the very corner of South-East Hancock County, Ohio and am willing to visit cemeteries in Eagle, Delaware, Amanda, Jackson and Madison townships. Ok, sometimes I will wander over to Van Buren and Orange townships too. I am very concerned with the preservation of our headstones and will not clean, scrub or chalk a stone. I do my best to use only lighting to reveal a stones text.

I am currently doing my own family research for Courtrights(Kortright), Doerners, Haas', Koenigs, Moores, Nichols', Thorntons and VanSickles. The majority of these families came to Huron County, Delaware County and Wood County Ohio.

I am also the chapter president of the John Hancock Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution in Findlay, as well as serving as the color guard commander. If you are interested in the SAR, please don't hesitate to contact me.

I would also love to share notes with anyone researching these families. Many of my memorials are family, so if you are researching these lines, feel free to drop me a note.

Eliza Garner Tilley
Hello,

Thank you for your work on FindAGrave. I have a question about your memorial for Eliza Tilley. Your memorial says:

Birth: 1838
Peterborough, England
Death: 1905
Lyme Township
Huron County
Ohio, USA

Eliza Tilley (Garner) was the daughter of John and Phoebe Garner, from England. She married John Tilley.

I was wondering about your sources for her birth in Peterborough, as well as her parents' names. Eliza and her husband, John, are two of my brick walls.

Thank you for your help!

Haas Family
My great-great grandfather we know was baptized in Huron County. We have his baptismal certificate. We believe he was the 1st born here. I know there were quite a few Haases in the Huron County area. Here is what my brother and I have gotten from our little bit of research. Maybe we are cousins. :)

Hello
Dan I did not know you were into genealogy. Christopher began as a 4H project in 2004 and it has been a family obsession since. (Even won a clock trophy in 2009) Sam takes it as well. Glad to see you here. Keep up the good work and happy hunting. Kristie

Thornton Family
Hi Daniel,

I am researching my mother's side of the family, Thornton. Here's what I have so far:
Father: Robert Henry Thornton, B: July 3, 1911, D: April 14, 1936 (she never knew him as he died 3 months before she was born).
Grandfather: Claude Thornton, B: May 18, 1888, D: Dec 18, 1933.
Great-Great Grandfather: Henry R. Thornton, B: Jan 10, 1860, D: Feb 25, 1947.
Great-Great-Great Grandfather: John James Thornton, B: 1834, D: Nov 10, 1892.
All are buried at Ft. Meigs Cemetary. All but John James Thornton were born in the Perrysburg area. John was born in NY (still trying to find where, along with his brothers Israel, Stephen B., James and Reed.
I was wondering if you had any information and/or photos you could pass along. I'd love for my mom to know her fathers side of the family as she never knew any of them. Thanks and it's great what you are doing for folks so they can get to know their history. ~Karen
