I pursued old-fashioned genealogy in cemeteries, libraries, and courthouses for several decades and communicated with fellow genealogists by mail and telephone. Am now reveling in internet research, digital photography, and email. The latter make researching fifth cousins twice removed much more feasible, if not sensible.|
Find A Grave is a wonderful resource, and I decided to say thank you for the work of others by entering records from local cemeteries. Many thanks to Ione Sweers whose notebooks on the cemeteries of Anderson County and Dorothy Kipper Lickteig whose abstracts of newspapers in ANDERSON COUNTY EARLY GLEANINGS and ANDERSON COUNTY KANSAS CEMETERY BOOK make this easier.
If I have created a memorial for one of your close relatives and you wish me to add information or link them to parents or spouses, just let me know. If you request a transfer, please follow Find A Grave guidelines.
You are welcome to use my photos in your family genealogies, post them on Ancestry, etc.

|Richard K Thompson||Pleasant A Pringle memorial update|
Thank you for contacting me about my memorial for Pleasant A. Pringle (# 34635734). While he is on my own family tree, the relationship is, well, very distant. I do have him on my Ancestry tree, however, along with other members of his family.
I've updated his memorial with some new notes and obituary transcription. Based on what I've found in trying to view the various census reports as found on Ancestry, I think that the core problem may be that there were two Alfred Pringle's who had sons named "P. A. Pringle" and/or "Pleasant A. Pringle". One family was based out of Kansas, the other, which I believe to be the one that applies to this particular Pleasant A. Pringle, was based here in Iowa. The names of the spouse of those two Alfred Pringle's are different, however, which is the tip-off that the reports attributed may not always be correct as to separating each family and the family members.
Ancestry transcriptions of census reports are tricky to interpret at times. It may be that both of these families have been intertwined in other family trees to the extent that pulling them apart may be difficult.
I'll try to do some more investigating, but if you read my updated memorial perhaps you'll understand my reasoning.

Hi, this is Noel's daughter and I would like permission to copy your picture of his gravestone so I can add it to him on my Ancestry Tree.
Thank You in advance.
Please send a source for the parents of Cynthia Skaggs

Thanks for your work! I recently connected Peter and Sarah as my great-great-grandparents through their son James! I have done fairly extensive work on James and his wife Elsie's line. They were my mother's grandparents. Also have photos if you were interested.

Glad to help. It takes us all to keep these things updated and current relating to various families. Thanks for all you do to promote family genealogies.

Thank you for the heads up about memorial duplication. I still have to resolve the issue with the other contributor. Meanwhile, if you review Edith's (my - 66881092) newly updated page, your previous questions to me about her may be answered hopefully.
My best regards, -L

Hi Anita, George and Grace are my great grandparents. Would you be willing to transfer their Find A Grave to me? Thanks in advance!
