Bio and Links
Bio Photo I pursued old-fashioned genealogy in cemeteries, libraries, and courthouses for several decades and communicated with fellow genealogists by mail and telephone. Am now reveling in internet research, digital photography, and email. The latter make researching fifth cousins twice removed much more feasible, if not sensible.

Find A Grave is a wonderful resource, and I decided to say thank you for the work of others by entering records from local cemeteries. Many thanks to Ione Sweers whose notebooks on the cemeteries of Anderson County and Dorothy Kipper Lickteig whose abstracts of newspapers in ANDERSON COUNTY EARLY GLEANINGS and ANDERSON COUNTY KANSAS CEMETERY BOOK make this easier.

If I have created a memorial for one of your close relatives and you wish me to add information or link them to parents or spouses, just let me know. If you request a transfer, please follow Find A Grave guidelines.

You are welcome to use my photos in your family genealogies, post them on Ancestry, etc.

Minerva Mahan
Do you know if there are any living relatives of
Minerva Mahan and William Mahan? Minerva was
my great grandmother's sister. Her name is Sarah A Toothaker, but I cannot find any trace of
her. She married Spencer Toothaker in Ohio.
Who were Minerva and Sarah's parents?? I've been
told it was Ide, but can't find any proof. Thanks for your devotion.

Julia Ann Chapman
I have found more information on Julia. She was b. 9-1-1831 in Madison, Madison County, New York to Warham Chapman and Thankful (Parker) Chapman.
Her father, Warham was b. 3-7-1783, d. 7-13-1820. She had a brother named Zenas, b. 9-7-1807 and he moved with Brigham and Julia Ann to Oconto Wisconsin, and on to Friendship Township. He raised his family there and died there. She also had a full sister named Louise b. 1819. Her mother remarred to Eber Lindsley and had about 5 more children. Julia's grandfather was Ezekial Chapman, a "frontier" minister.

Thanks for adding this information in to Julia's Find a Grave site.

I can't believe that I still had a copy of the photo. I have added it to the memorial again.

Hi Anita
I will try to get back up to the cemetery this coming week. I took the picture of Sr but not Jr. The one on Find A Grave, for Sr was 1974, but I will look for Jr who died in 2011. I need to get back up there again anyhow.

You are not suppose to add a memorial before they die. You did this to my Aunt and she is still alive!

You are very wrong. She did not pass away until March 27, 2015. You have her on before she died!

The joys of geneology!!!
You really have to love it when dates change every record and have enought to make you think uh? I found one in the 1910 cenus they were twins in the 1930 there was 20 years difference in age and the baby sister became the oldest!!! It's ok they are kids no one cares if their info is right! And wife one census was Mary the next Molly and on the marriage license she is Carolyn Elizabeth! The only reason I didn't think there was 3 different wife's was because she was equally listed under those names on her children's birth records and ir wasn't like the first three were Mary's them next were Molly and the next were Carolyn's.. Nope one twin had Molly the other Carolyn come to find out she was Mary Carolyn Elizabeth and went by Molly!!! @.@ yep that wasn't a bit confusing! Lol thanks for the info!
