Thank you for the correction. I did change the burial location from Saint Patrick's (New) to (Old), as you suggested.

|draugh||Burials of suicide deaths in the 1800s|
Hi Fr. Ledoux,
I found a newspaper article that attributed an ancestor's death in 1857 to him "slitting his own throat." I was surprised to find that since the ancestor is buried in St. Michael's Cemetery in Loretto. I thought during that time period, people who committed suicide were barred from being buried in Catholic cemeteries. Could you provide some insight?

Father Ledoux, would you check St Mike's for Sylvester A Bradley's gravemarker? The death certificate says that he's buried there along with other descendant's of John C Bradley. Other note, do you Msgr. Lenz? He's my first cousin. dan
