Matthew Norman Case
In a previous post with a picture of Philo Case and his drum I noticed that you listed yourself as the 2nd great granddaughter. However, I am not able to figure out who you are. Moreover, I am the 2ng great grandson of Philo. You are welcome to email me for more information.

In honor of Philo Case, on this 150th Anniversary of the Civil War. From your 2nd great granddaughter, with love and respect.

RE: Will James' Findagrave Memorial # 65052380
We too are Will James fans and have several of his books. We are going to be in Sheridan, WY this summer and hope to visit the museum in Hardin, MT where they supposedly have a display and the cabin from his ranch. It wasn't necessary to give me credit for the info but thank you. Glad to be of some help. ~Carol

Re your profile photo
I forgot to tell you that I love your profile photo! Reminds me of the old Spilliken Corners at Magic Mountain in California back when I was a kid. Only your photo is so much better looking and authentic!

RE: Moses Pettingell
I would love for you to transfer them to me. I didn't realize that I created duplicate Memorials. I'm so sorry! I thought I checked all possible spelling variations for Pettingell.

Thank you for locating them. It is very much appreciated.

Letitia Bird McKay at Harrison Cemetery
You claim on my aunt Letitia's memorial that she came to Oregon in 1841 and possibly earlier. Can you please delete those remarks? She came in the 1841 Sinclair party from the Red River to Ft Vancouver on a promise that the HBC had made to give them land, livestock, etc, etc. The HBC did not keep their promise. She spent the winter at Nisqually. The company failed further on their promise. Crops failed, etc, etc. She then came to the Tuality Plains were her husband founded Glencoe. This is a well documented journey. They did not come on the Oregon Trail. Most of my family knows the story, I own the original pictures which I have posted. The Sinclair party was British. It had nothing to do with The US promising a DLC to entice settlers. A whole different story.

RE: Sarah Kibby or Kibbey
Yes, that is the correct 1850 census. Do you have their 2 OR land grants or their arrival documents in 1852? I can share them if you would like. Would love to have Karen email me. Is there a way I can get my email address to you? It would be great to share everything we have. I have some newspaper pictures of Tignal Kibby (E&D"s son) in Kings Valley (Eliza and David's 2nd Oregon Land Grant). My dad told me where he would go to visit his Kibby aunts (Nettie was one) in OR with my grandmother. Seems they owned and ran a gas station. Sarah Kibby Andrews was my 2nd great grandmother. I really need to get a bible record to connect David Kibby with his parents and one for Eliza and her parents. Those are the only generations for which I don't have original sources. When I have those original sources all descendants will be DAR and DAC eligible. The lineage back to colonist, Elisha Kibbe, will be recorded and preserved with all original sources for all descendants to access. I intend to give both Benton and Yamhill Genealogy societies all of the documents I secure for their collections. So... any assistance would be most welcomed. We could collectively continue the Kibbe book by Doreen Potter Hanna. Check it out on Google books if you have not yet done so. Found it at the DAR library. By the way I am in CA.

RE: David and Eliza Kibbey Photograph

I am visiting my father in Thousand Oaks. I believe that you are in Southern California?

I was just up in Kings Valley, OR. There I was given a few Kibby family pictures by a local who is related. We were put in touch by the Benton County Genealogy society. I have maps of the area for the land grants that David and Eliza had. I believe you and I share the common grandparents- Tygnal and Nancy Rudder. I have all original sources (b, m, d) for everyone leading up to the Revolutionary War period and into the Colonial era for the Kibby's. Womack's I only have up to the Revolutionary War at this point and the same for the Allen and Rudder families. I will trace back to Colonial era for them as well with original sources. I am establishing Elisha Kibbe with Colonial Dames.

What I do need is a generational link for David with his parents and Sarah with her parents. Always the hardest generation in American history. Do you know of anyone who might have Bible or church records or letters?

We have the Sarah Kibby and James Andrews bible. I will eventually post 2 pictures of David and Eliza in very old age from that Bible.

Once I have all original sources I will be giving copies to the Yamhill Genealogy Society and to Benton County as well.

I was told that the Kibby's grayed early. Thank goodness it seems none of us inherited that gene!!

Nice sharing info with you.
