Bowman residents
Hi Glenda
I don't remember if I told you that I belong to the Placer County Historical Foundation and a group of us are writing a book about Bowman? I am working on the section about the residents of Bowman. Would it be alright with you if we use some of your Find A Grave photos of people from Bowman in the book? Your research has been a great help to me in finding family connections.
Thanks, Karri

Hello again!

Since her birth date is not given on the headstone at Old Auburn Cemetery, I wondered what the source of information was for her exact birth date that is listed on the page.

"Birth: Mar. 7, 1855, England
Death: Aug. 22, 1927
Placer County
California, USA"

Thank you!

Hilda May Alkire/BLOOM, #41892183
Hi Glenda, I do have a change for this memorial, or you can transfer management of Hilda's memorial over to me, as I'm trying to manage as many of my families memorials as I can. Hilda was the wife of my great uncle, William Avery Alkire. The birth date on this grave marker is wrong, and here is the story. Hilda's biological mother committed suicide in February of 1910, so Hilda could not have been born in May of 1910 unless she had another biological mother we didn't know about. The other option, is that the birth date is in error. I ordered her birth certificate from Washington State and sure enough, she was in fact born on May 22, 1909. All Census records beginning in 1920, give her birth date as 1910 and one can only speculate as to how this error could have been made in the first place, not to mention persist thru all the years of her life, and beyond. She died young, but in retrospect, she did get in a bit more time on this earth than everyone realized. Scott

Thanks for the care you have taken with the graves of the unknown.

I believe you have helped me find my Uncle Samuel Norton Sprague #113015566.

I miss Kerry Samson too. I am so lucky to see her at the Mayflower Society meetings.

Glenda, would you consider being a speaker at one of our meetings?

Respectfully,

Jeff Record

Dolly Joy Bronzi - #93364357
Hi,
Found your name with my cousin - Dolly's memorial.
Although we do not know the location of her gravesite, it might be helpful for someone if we link her memorial to her parents. They are Ralph James #103460862 and Myrtle May James #26025294.
Thank you for the effort and hours you spend providing info on Find A Grave.

Kellogg Saw Mill in Dutch Flats, CA
Good Evening!

Do you know anything about the Kellogg family and where it might have had a saw mill in a family barn about 1910 - 1920?

Thanks very much.

Hi Glenda,

Do you have any further information about this grave? I see "Loretta" on the stone, but not the "Williams." Was it in a family grouping? The reason I'm asking is because my grandparents lived for a time in CA before settling in MI. Their oldest child was born 1927, but they lost a girl, "Loretta" prior to that. I'm not sure if it was when they lived in CA.
