The various branches of my tree that I am researching are: Oliphant, Peer, Kivell, Nancekivell, Glover and Hendershot.
I live in Halton Region, Ontario and have digitally recorded 2500+ gravestones, in particular local pioneer cemeteries and am in the process of connecting all the various pioneer family members.
I truly appreciate and thank everyone for all the hard work and dedication they do that makes this website the huge success it is. I have found long lost family members on this website, and have received emails from people stating I have done the same for them. It's heartwarming to receive those emails.
But I do have one issue that I would like express here. Quite often a person's name is entered but not connected to their family members. The family information is clearly on the gravestone or in the cemetery transcript, but some people are not taking the time to connect the family members. I'm not sure if their entries are done in such a quick manner so their numbers of entries climbs higher and higher. I am doing genealogy research on many local cemeteries, and just this morning alone I have sent 100+ requests to members requesting corrections/additions to memorial pages. I find this quite frustrating and very very time consuming. And of course, after sending all these messages to members I am never sure if they are acted upon. Please, please could I ask that accuracy come ahead of numbers when creating memorial pages.

|Kathryn ||David Knight (1791-1874) in Halton|
Patricia, I was delighted to see that you've added my photo from Ancestry (I'm "babbling1") to the Memorial for my 3xgr-grandfather David Knight! I haven't searched records on Find-A-Grave for a while, so this is the first I've seen your pages for this family. I'm so grateful that you've taken the time to put all these photos online! I live in England, so it's a bit hard to do physical research and search for gravestones. I only recently discovered through Alice Munro's book, View from Castle Rock, that my ancestors (along with hers: Laidlaw family) are buried in the Boston Church Cemetery and were founders of the Church.
I hope you won't mind if I return the favour and copy the photos of gravestones over to Ancestry.
Again, many thanks!

|Annette||Leaving Memoria Flowers|
Sorry for the last post Find A Grave had a glitch. ON Memorial# 81523062 you left flowers where images of headstones should be placed. If you continue on the right side below the Cemetery Photo is you can pick the option to leave flowers. Please if you can delete the ones in the upper section and re add to the lower area.

I have updated the memorial for William Ryerson Kelly as per your request but noticed that you created a duplicate for his mother Elizabeth Kelly (your memorial #124903945 original #68550579) I linked his memorial to the original. Can you please delete your duplicate? Also I noticed that you created a duplicate for his spouse Catherine (your memorial #124905024 original #97767785). Can you please delete your duplicate of this one as well as he is now showing two wives.

I received your message regarding links. While they are nice to have they are not required by Find A Grave. In fact it has only been in the last few years that we have even had the option of adding links. Since most of my entries are normally made via spreadsheet upload linking is not available using that format until after the upload is completed. If you would like to add link you are more than welcome to send me a suggest a correction with the links you would like made and I will make them.
Find A Grave is first and foremost a grave registration site.

|Laura L Zimmerman||Peter Johann Simmerman|
I have posted photos of the headstones I have taken for Eden Cemetery. Peter Johann Simmerman and Margaret Winterstein are my 4th Great Grandparents. I have, however, noticed the note you added about Peter Johann's parents. This has not been proven as of yet.

Thanks! And now I found his obituary. So sad for that family, first the dad, then the mom, leaving a 10 year daughter orphaned in 1930.
I did those corrections
Are you related? You can have them and any other Brownridges I have, they are not related to me
Just let me know
I decided to do a bit of research for them. I only found that Jane that died 1900 seemed to be married at the time of death. Can't find the DC at SeekingMichigan which is definitely weird and I tried all sorts of searching terms and spelling.
(I spent about 30 minutes so far on this)
FS states her first name as Jans as in the following
Name: Jans Brownridge
Death Date: 06 Oct 1900
Death Place: Lincoln, Isabella, Michigan
Birth Date: 1831
Marital Status: Widowed
Indexing Project (Batch) Number: B07349-2
System Origin: Michigan-EASy
GS Film number: 1005119
Reference ID: v 2 p 46
Citing this Record Michigan, Deaths and Burials, 1800-1995
I seem to remember having spelling problems with their last name when I first recorded the memorials. I tend to research too when making memorials so I can get family linked together and most likely the reason I couldn't link them at the time of making the memorials.(Probably lack of records since they were from Canada I assume?)
Later here in my membership I've been wanting proof before linking. Used to just link willy nilly not checking a thing. Then I started checking ages to make sure its possible and then I started providing proofs with the SAC's I send out so if I can't find back up for the SAC's I receive I request that of the person sending me SAC's
Any simple ole info that lets me know you're well or some what versed in that family.
I'll hang on to the SAC's for while until I hear back from you
Thanks for understanding
Thanks for the info on Victor. His memorial has been updated.
