I volunteer at Oakwood Cemetery in Niagara Falls. I have some limited access to St. Mary's/Sacred Hearts Cemetery, which are adjacent to Oakwood, although most of their records have been destroyed and the cemetery is in ill repair.|
St. Joseph's, Holy Trinity and Gate of Heaven (Lewiston) are not far away and within my travel range for photo requests. I will only take photo requests that already have grave section/area info because these are HUGE cemeteries. Call the cemetery office, tell them you are from far away and ask they provide you with the info so you can send someone else to get the photo. Most places will do one or two requests for FREE. After more than a couple, however, be prepared to pay some sort of fee.
Riverdale and Accacia Park will NOT process requests for Find A Grave photographers and are particularly unfriendly about it. Call them and get the grave location and put it in your photo request. These cemeteries want to charge photographers if they go in and ask for help. For one or two requests, they MIGHT do it over the phone for YOU. Remember: your family BOUGHT plots there. They work for YOU.
Visit my Virtual Cemetery "Oakwood's River Folks" for folks who have died stunting at The Falls or in The Niagara River and then stop by and say hi to my recently departed best friend, Eilean "Ellie" Lyonhil Donan in the Virtual Cemetery, "Beloved Friends".

Scot, that would be so good. Thank you! Just next time you go. No special trip needed.

Last summer you created and posted a wonderfully legible close-up of the marker for Mary and Paul Bakarich, #s 74840681 & 80902326 in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, Niagara County, NY. Will you be going out there again by any chance? I would love it if you could take a photo of the whole stone, with a wee bit of surrounding space so we could see what the stone looks like where it is. That would be so kind. Thank you

Glad I could send your way. I got a new job about 3 months ago- working 50-60 hours a week. Don't have the time, I used to - to keep this up. Thanks for your work!

Thanks for the photo. It is a friends father, and I'm sure he appreciates the effort on your part. Another Find A Grave good deed!

|Stephen Barneby||RE: Harriet FOUND|
I looked for an obit in the "Gazette," but the dates in question are not available. One of her in-laws wrote a poem about her about 5 years before she died.
Thanks for all your help.

Great stuff! Thanks very much for following up on this. I hadn't expected that she would have lived so long.
|Stephen Barneby||RE: Harriet (Kline) Brown|
Thanks again. I'll be she's buried with her husband.

Thanks very much for looking at her (possible) memorial. I suspect she is buried nearby, but I expect we may never really know.
This is a very nice community service that you are doing.
Thank again, Steve Barneby
|V. Holm||Update for W. Warren Biggar|
William Warren Biggar is not the son of Joseph Leflar Biggar. They are brothers, the sons of John Lanning Biggar (#33359131) and Elizabeth Ann Jamison Biggar (#33359291). Joseph and William are the brothers of my great-grandfather James Edgar Biggar. Would you please make this correction?
Thank you, Virginia L. Holm #47164090
