I am new to researching my genealogy and am totally addicted! It is difficult balancing a full time job, family, and a new favorite hobby! I find myself staying up late looking for that little bit of information that could answer questions and lead to a whole new path in my family tree!|
*If I take a picture that you don't like, please let me know. I will gladly go back and take another.
**If I've added something to a loved one's memorial that you don't like, I will gladly remove it.
***I also don't mind looking up obituaries for Deschutes & Jefferson County Oregon at our library on the microfiche machine!
****I also make the occasional trip to the state archives to look up death certs. Let me know if I can find one for you. They have to be 50 years or older. So 1963 or older.
Feel free to use my pictures of your ancestors in your genealogy quest! I will transfer management of memorials who are not related to me.

Hi--I will be happy to look them up--but I won't be there until next week. We are helping a friend put on an auction this Sunday. We have been busy setting it up and then we will store the rest of her stuff at our house!! I finally cleaned out a bedroom--I had been meaning to do that for 2 years! When I clean a room, I CLEAN it to the walls!! I'll get them to you ASAP! Yes, it was nice to talk to you! It is nice to finally meet someone who has e-mailed me before. Thanks, Diana

Thank you for your kind words Carisa. No I'm not related. I have a microfilm reader at home and I spent a lot of time "reading" the early day newspapers and gleaning information from them. Trust me, I know about every horse thief and buggy accident in town. LOL. The newspaper then was certainly the Facebook of its day. Anytime I find something in the paper concerning a person, whether it be their death or other event (yes, even the buggy accidents), I add it to my pages. The things I find in the local paper would remain largely unknown if I didn't add them. Create a virtual cemetery and add her to it and then occasionally check back. She died in 1907 and it won't be long before I go through that paper. Surely I'll find an obit. Or leave a flower on the page and I'll try to remember to get back in touch with you if I find it.
Hello Carisa, Sorry to be so late in thanking you for Scott's photo. His father recently passed away so maybe there will be a stone there soon. Thank you again, Michele

I give you my permission to use the Robert Rippert gravemarker photo if you give me credit for taking the photo, and include the source information as Find A Grave, the memorial number and that the grave is in Lincoln Memorial Park, in Portland, Sylvan section, lot 115 and grave 1.

Carisa. Sorry it took me so long to make the corrections. I have been out of town this week. I added the links and changed the wording on the bio. I appreciate your information and have made changes in my own tree
You're welcome. Glad to help.

There does not appear to be a headstone. See http://gisweb.ci.boulder.co.us/website/parks/parks_columbia/columbia.htm?IDNUM=6730 for more information.

Hi--the Archives don't have any obits. They might have what you need at the State of Oregon Library which is just a couple of blocks away from the Archives. Have you checked out usgenweb.com ?? You can check on there to see what they have at the Archives--I always use usgenweb to get to there, but I guess you can just google the Archives and get there too!! Good luck, Diana
|diana greb||RE: Flora Stephens|
Hi--Yes, it is quite possible that there was an error on the DC. It depends on who was giving the information and the person writing it down. Whoever was writing it could have thought he said Mason not Nason. It would cost you .25 if you went to the Archives and took a copy of the DC on their copy machine. If you ordered one from the Archives I think it would cost you $5.00 if you live here in Oregon and $10.00 if you lived out of state. I go to the Archives and take digital images of the DCs. I have seen people take their computers and scanners in and take copies of papers. They don't charge for that. I will check tomorrow when I am at the Albany Library and can use their Ancestry.com site and see where Herbert Stephens died. Diana
