Being raised in a small town in southeast Kansas family and friends were a very important part of my life. When I was small I loved listening to my parents and grandparents talk of family. I loved meeting older family members and listening to the stories. Even though these people are gone now they are still very much a part of my life, they taught me to nurture and value family, they guided me to become the person I am today.

My parents and grandparents were faithful in visiting cemeteries and remembering and honoring those that have passed. I guess I inherited that love. Therefore, I dedicate my work on Labette County cemeteries and family histories to my parents and grandparents. It is my hope that I can link families together and tell the stories of the pioneers who first came to the area.

NOTE: Any of the pictures that I have entered aren't bound by copyright infringement and can be used in your family trees. OUT OF "RESPECT" FOR THOSE OF US WHO SPEND HOURS AND HOURS AND TRAVEL MANY MILES TO TAKE THESE PICTURES, I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD LET ME KNOW BEFORE YOU YOU POST A PICTURE I HAVE TAKEN ON THE INTERNET. ***ALSO: I would appreciate it if you would list your source when posting my photos to or other on-line sites. If you have a question regarding a picture, please feel free to contact me.

I will also transfer a memorial to you if they are your family (with the exception of my direct family). Should you find an error or have additional information on any of the people I have posted, e-mail me. I am always glad to make additions and corrections so that the information is as accurate as possible. It may take me a few days to make a correction, so be patient!

But most of all, thank you to all of those who have posted information and photos on Find A Grave. This is a great resource tool for all of us.

Laura Fitch
I noticed that you manage Alfred Buntin Memorial. I am doing research for Daughters of American Revolution perspective member and trying to find his wife's tombstone. Her name was Laura Fitch. Do you have any information on that line? Laura Fitch (1812- ) was d/o Elisa Fitch and Lyia Hoskins. Thanks for any help you might be able to provide. Take care.

James Thornton
Margaret, I've noticed you have done a lot of work on the James Thornton (Mem. # 106538952) family of Montgomery, Co. KS. I'm curious as to what happened to his daughter Mabel W. She seems to disappear after the 1910 census and I'm assuming she married. She was born in 1890. All of James' daughters are in his obituary you posted to his memorial under their husband's names, and I have all of them figured out except the Smith one. I just am not sure though she married a Smith. Thanks for any input!

RE: Ritchie and Carlson
Thanks, Marg. I appreciate it very much. Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. Thank you for sharing, my husband never had the pleasure of meeting the Carlson's, but we've had the pleasure of meeting Letha's brother, Jay, and are looking forward to visiting with him again in a couple of months. Sadie J. Mead Stone Barnett
Hi, Margaret. If you would link Ben Stone (95869273) to Sadie Barnett (91755871) and list her name as Sadie J. Mead Stone Barnett, it would help explain why Sadie J. and Solomon O. Barnett are buried in the Stone/Swanwick area at Oswego.

Thanks, Margaret. I always give credit when I use a photo, even if the person who took it doesn't ask that I do so.
Thank you for the work you have done on Find a Grave.

Ritchie and Carlson
Hi, Margaret. Just wanted to tell you THANK YOU ThANK YOU for all your hard work and dedication. My husband's Aunt is Bertha Ritchie.

It was so nice to be able to find her, her husband, Jay, daughter, etc., on find-a-grave. We visited Richland Cemetery last year and were able to find their headstones and take pictures.

We've had to search hard for the majority of his family members. Most are not on Find-a-Grave, which has prompted me to start posting/linking them.

You also added obituaries for some that we don't have. ie: Roy Carlson.

Would you mind if we copied the obituary into our family tree on Ancestry? We would give you credit for providing and also state the paper where it was printed like you did.

Thank you again for your dedication. Edie Burke

Mays photos Pumpkin Creek Cemetery

I would like to post the photo of my G.G. Grandfather George W. Mays photo of his headstone (#111182090) and his daughter Nora Bell
(#111182090)to my Ancestery.Com Tree.I will give you and Find-A-Grave credit for the photos. Also you list George date of death as 1871. Family info has his date of death as 1878. You were the one that took the picture and would know the date.
Is it 1871 or 1878, the picture is not that clear?

Thank You
Raymond Mays
