(Updated Jan 30, 2015)|
As I have now moved from Atchison Co. KS to another Co., I may not be doing anything else with Atchison Co.
I have requested, and it has been done, for most of my memorials to be transferred to someone inn my current county for upkeep. I am only going to keep my family members.
I will be working on things in the new county, but I will need some time before doing so as I need to get settled in my new home.
To all of you that helped (and are still helping) clean up Atchison Co., thank you very much.
Have a great year all :)
I am a F.A.G. volunteer for (no longer) Atchison County, KS. If you have any questions about cemeteries here, feel free to email me and I will try my best to answer.
I am also working on getting the cemeteries from surrounding counties entered / corrected.
Sometimes, real life gets in the way and I may not get something done within a few days... if you haven't heard from me, or a change hasn't been made, after 2 weeks, please send me a reminder.
Please read all notes as they are important...
Thank you and have a great day :)
Please read the below information before sending me corrections or edits. Failure to do so may keep your corrections from being done.
If you haven't read the FAQs yet, or haven't read them lately, they are updated regularly. You are responsible for reading them and following the instructions in them. Anyone who comes to me with something that is against the FAQs will be ignored.
Note for Mount Vernon Cemetery, Atchison, KS:
I have started adding Plot locations to those memorials that my books list.
If I do not have a location, I am putting a ? in the Plot field. This way, I can tell if I have already looked that person up, and know that I have to refer someone to the cemetery record-keeper for the plot.
If you ask for a photo for someone who has a ? in the plot field, you are going to need to contact the Mount Vernon Cemetery Association and ask for the plot from them (Contact info is on the main cemetery page). I cannot do it for you and it's not fair to ask a volunteer to search through 40 acres of headstones to find 1.
Most of my memorials were created from the 'Kansas Room burial listings' that are listed in the 'References Used' section below.
Most errors in my memorials are due to transcription errors in that list. I am in the process of correcting the errors from there but it will take a long time and a lot of research.
I am more than happy to make corrections... just be polite about it.
Please do not leave me corrections on this profile page. See below for instructions on how to send corrections... that is the preferred way for me (and for Find A Grave, see FAQs). Thank you.
Please use the Suggest a Correction link on the EDIT tab on a memorial if you'd like to send me questions or suggestions. Any left on my profile page will be ignored.
If I have created a memorial for your immediate family member and you would like it transferred to you, please use the Edit link located in the upper right hand corner of each memorial and the Suggest a Correction (S.A.C.) option.
I have no problem transferring memorials... just ask (and use the S.A.C. link).
Also, if you find any errors I have made, please use the EDIT tab on the memorials to make the corrections. I appreciate people helping me fix errors.
Also please send any additional information you have via the same method and I will add it to the memorial.
All 'Date of Death' fields that were originally from the above sources (books / website) are actually the burial dates. Most cemeteries only record the burial date as that is what they have in their records.
Please let me know when the burial date is incorrect and you know the Death date. Thank you.

|A. L. Schmidt||Thanks for the transfer|
Thanks for the transfer of Catharine Little Greathouse. It really made my day yesterday to find her. Good luck with the new county, by the way.

Good Morning Franz, Thank you for the correction on Ella's Memorial site. I have made the correction but added a note that explains the information. I also added a small bio, if you see any misinformation please let me know. Thanks, Donna

Thanks so much! Hope it's a beautiful day out in Kansas.
|DJ Csikos||RE: Checking in...|
Thank you so much; keeping busy helps, so I have been trying to make sure that each memorial has something special in it. Amazing job!

I'm still working on that section "I". I may find more. I will also try to get a better shot of Alexander's. If I can remember where it was. I am just freelancing and doing as many as I can of the flat stones because they are sinking. I have no idea when I take the shots if they are requested or not. So now that I know it's requested I will try to find it again and take a spade with me and try to get it better for you.
