My ancestors settled in northeastern Indiana in the 1830s and I am still here. I especially like old obituaries and newspaper clippings, and of course, cemeteries. |
I generally follow the transfer guidelines as outlined by Findagrave. I try to get updates done quickly.
Exceptions: I often take photos when we go on vacation, so if I have a memorial that is not in NE Indiana, I am normally more than happy to transfer it as I have no plans to do research in those areas.
Thanks to all who have sent additional information for the memorials. Time does not allow me to thank each of your personally, but please know that the additional information is greatly appreciated.

I have not worked on Find a Grave other than looking people up until now, but you have set up Clausmeier records for FW Catholic Cemetery. This is my family, and you have some facts wrong. Can I 'take over' those, or how does that work? There are also many Lynch's, Kaoughs, Martins, etc who are my family buried there. I also live here, just started doing genealogy about 3 years ago. thanks for all the work you have done.

|Janice Stoy||Hi Sheryl|
I recently became a member of Find A Grave and I have much to learn. My number is #132609935. I have found that you added my grandfather Warren Anicholas Arnold in the Flint (Indiana) cemetery. You have included my mother and a couple of her brothers and sisters but there were seven of those siblings and all are buried at Flint side by side with their spouses. I'm afraid I stepped on your toes by not fully understanding the Find A Grave process and I added the missing siblings myself. I apologize and will try to learn by my mistakes. I hope I haven't messed up the whole system! Janice Stoy

Wow, thanks for adding the obit. I have not come across that yet and was really interested in finding out he contracted the small pox from a daughter, it must have been his daughter Catherine as she died 14Nov1881. I appreciate the info and glad you notified me even though you aren't related. Beckie

What wonderful photography. I have not visited my Great Aunt Effie's grave yet; but, hope to soon.
I appreciate your help in getting more accurate info included about the family. Thanks Again.
In order to post such a recent obit., I would need the date it was published and what paper it was posted in. Please know that I will also delete the names of the living but will refer to survivors as son, daughter, etc.
I just feel that I need to follow the Find A Grave guidelines on this, especially since Ancestry bought them out. Some people are so upset by that, that they are actually deleting any and all memorials they have posted. Not sure I understand...
