Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born at St. Vincent's Orphanage in Chicago. Because of the federal, State and local laws denying adoptees their basic civil rights to their original birth certificates and adoption records, I spent 30 years searching for clues to my biological families by searching libraries for obituaries and for information in old phone books, etc. This entailed a LOT of travel because I did this prior to the explosion of personal computers and online databases and resources for research into genealogy. Unless you are an adoptee, I don't think you will fully understand the extreme joy and connection I experienced when I found the graves of my biological maternal grandparents! And the information contained on those markers led me to finding my maternal half siblings. It also led me to tracing my own ancestry back more than 7 generations. I couldn't be happier if my contributions to Find A Grave can help someone in their genealogy research or in feeling a bit of that connection I felt when I found my biological grandparents' graves.

I had been posting obituaries I obtained from online sources to the memorials I add to Find-A-Grave. But, Find-A-Grave's FAQ (#89) concerning the posting of such obituaries is rather specific. So, I no longer post such obituaries.

Dear James, thank you for the Flag you have place on Normans memorial page. I am still trying to get the Government to give me a military plaque to add to his stone.
Again thank you.

RE: Eva Alice Taylor Ingram - Evergreen Cemetery
On Find a Grave it is called Evergreen Cemetery & Mausoleum, Evergreen Park. I have changed her cemetery to this one and put in a request for a photo. Hopefully it is the correct one.

Thanks for your help...Robie

Eva Alice Taylor Ingram - Evergreen Cemetery
Hi...Thanks for your email and information. Her death certificate says burial is at Evergreen Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois. Her brother was living in the Chicago area so I assumed this maybe the reason she was buried there...Jules A. Taylor. Her parents are buried in Michigan.

I will change my records until I learn more. If you have access to any records that might help, I would appreciate it.

Thanks for your help...Robie

RE: Seven Angels
Omg James, I am sure that you saved lives, and did what you could, as others did. I was driving towards Crystal Lake, and saw the bus flying, best way I can describe. I had slammed on my brakes, and parked in front of some business, blocking part of NW Hwy, I ran, or flew across cars, still driving by accident scene, got bumped hard by couple of cars. Ran up to 3 teens and moved them from scene, stopping traffic.
Blood was everywhere, one teen told me, my best friends dead in the bus....I just remember screams and I had blood all over me. Rest was a blur. We all did what we could.

I cannot believe that you were there again for the next accident. It seems that you are a Angel.

Thank you for all that you have done.

Talk soon, Shaun

RE: Seven Angels
I saw your memorial for the October 25th, 1995 Metra-Bus accident. I was there that day also, denting my car, by pulling off the road, Rt 14, and running across Rt 14, just missing getting hit by passing cars, (well I did get hit, but it was not about me) so I raced to the accident sight, trying to help anyone that I could. I can still see & hear everything now almost 20 yrs later.

Thank you so much for putting together all of the 7 Angels information, and putting your love into this to educate and honor those killed & injured. You did a great job, thank you.

These 7 Angels will never be forgotten.
