Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born at St. Vincent's Orphanage in Chicago. Because of the federal, State and local laws denying adoptees their basic civil rights to their original birth certificates and adoption records, I spent 30 years searching for clues to my biological families by searching libraries for obituaries and for information in old phone books, etc. This entailed a LOT of travel because I did this prior to the explosion of personal computers and online databases and resources for research into genealogy. Unless you are an adoptee, I don't think you will fully understand the extreme joy and connection I experienced when I found the graves of my biological maternal grandparents! And the information contained on those markers led me to finding my maternal half siblings. It also led me to tracing my own ancestry back more than 7 generations. I couldn't be happier if my contributions to Find A Grave can help someone in their genealogy research or in feeling a bit of that connection I felt when I found my biological grandparents' graves.

I had been posting obituaries I obtained from online sources to the memorials I add to Find-A-Grave. But, Find-A-Grave's FAQ (#89) concerning the posting of such obituaries is rather specific. So, I no longer post such obituaries.

Ensign graves
Thank you so much for searching...above and beyond the norm...for the graves of the Ensign folks. I truly appreciate your effort (and love your story!).

I'll go make a note on their memorials that they don't have markers.

Thanks again,

Thank you very much for the photo of Jean's headstone. I am sure that it was cold at the cemetery when you took the picture.

RE: Anna Roddis
Thanks for the name info on this memorial. I wish Find A Grave offered a place to put the names from previous marriages as they do for the maiden name. It seems that wherever you put the name it screws things up when searching memorials which is why they suggest you don't include it. On the other hand if that is a name you are looking for then that person doesn't show up. And if they had children with the first husband it seems like the name should be included somehow. Conundrum.
Thanks so much for adding the photo! Appreciate it. Any clue where the second husband is buried? I would like to at least link them. Thanks again.
