Bio and Links
Bio Photo Live in Baltimore County, MD; summer at Limekiln Lake in Inlet, NY. Write historical articles for Weekly Adirondack in Old Forge and appear on , am interested in Adirondack and Fulton Chain historical figures, of whom many are in Oneida and Lewis Counties and other NY cemeteries, many now inactive, often in obscure locations.

I work from my cemetery photos, then linking the graves through trees, and newspaper sites such as and I often contact ancestry trees to let them know I've found their family members, especially if I've used their trees to confirm or help link family members on findagrave.

There is always a chance for errors and happy finger typos. So please do not hesitate to let me know if you find something needing correcting, have more family connections or question the links I've made, using the "Edit" tab on the memorial.

If you find I've added a photo where one was already present, I often take photos to get the whole stone and a closeup for clarity or to get the family group of stones. If I find a photo of part of a stone and I have the entire stone , if the back of stone is shown without the front, I will add my own to the benefit of the memorial and the deceased's family who may not be able to go to that location.

In like manner, if someone has a better, clearer photo than mine, please add it and don't hesitate to ask me to remove mine. Please contact me and I will be glad to do so for this any other reason.

I don't add to existing photos to replicate what is there or to add to my statistics. If you believe mine repeats what you've added without additional benefit, please ask me to remove mine and I will do so promptly.

Rather than add memorials from listings, I add memorials from walking the cemetery and taking photos.

Anything I add to findagrave is intended to be used by you.

My profile photo was taken at a mock cemetery at Sturbridge Village.

RE: abrahm williams
are you going to delete your memorial? I have switched my reference to the earlier memorial.

RE: herman sylvia janitzky
A few years ago I received a package with photos of my Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother and family, as well as a number of letters that my GGM (Herman's Mother) wrote to her family in Germany in the 1920's-1940s. The letters are in old German, but my cousins in Germany also included typed up transcriptions. I haven't fully translated them, but my understanding is Herman's father headed west, and his family never heard from him again.

Roxanna Lyon Wilcox
Thank you so very much for taking the time to find and photograph Roxanna's headstone. She was a sister to my 4th great-grandfather, who thought enough of her to name my 3g grandmother after her.

Your Bio on f.a.g.
I commend you and thank you for your work; I appreciate that you have given permission to use your photos and will give credit to you when I use them. As stated in your bio, I am one of those not able to travel to the cemeteries to find my ancestors. Again, thank you; Cid Swartz-Lamkins.

Received your message. My cousin Connie (William's daughter) is still alive and living in South Carolina. I will let her know and see if she wants to have his death date added.

RE: system problems findagrave names
Thank you, I try to be.
Find A Grave has been having serious problems for the last two weeks. It was down completely for 3-4 days.
I tried your example and sure enough, the name on the memorial is Willam Jones. The "Family links" and "Sibling" entries are Ryan. On the left side when you click on "Find all Jones in: Calvary" it shows "no records". Have you tried creating a new memorial and deleting the defective one?
I have had other people tell me they have been having issues with Find A Grave. Hopefully, they will get it all straightened out soon. I would report the issue to Find A Grave.
I did Pine Grove Cemetery, Poland, NY and some of the pictures I added disappeared. I went back and re-entered the pictures.
Very frustrating but, this to shall pass.
