Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing genealogy since 1991. I have recently started as a FindAGrave volunteer photographer. I have some experience in database management and decided to ask Green Hills cemetery in Rancho Palos Verdes CA if I could convert the database that they have on-line to the FindAGrave format and do a bulk submittal of those names interred in Green Hills that had not already been submitted. They agreed that it was OK, as the names were already in the public domain on their website. It has been a sucessful project as I have had a lot of people tell me they have found relatives that they would not have found otherwise.
I have turned the management of the memorials over to "GreenHillsStonesCalling"
I have recently updated the memorials at Green Hills memorial Park to be current as the end of August 2015.
With the permission of the Wilmington Cemetery Board, the South Bay Cities Genealogical Society with my coordination has completed the addition of all interments in the Wilmington Cemetery to FindAGrave. Those of you who are posting there, please check carefully to assure there is not a memorial already posted before you post a duplicate.

RE: Photos
I appreciate the feedback, but I've found that taking pictures too close to noon produces too much glare. Given the heat of the last few weeks I've been trying to get out there late morning or late afternoon, but the Wilmington Cemetely closes at 3pm on the weekends, so that hasn't helped me either.

I'll try to take another picture when I'm out there next weekend. The grass has also overgrown many of the headstones and I've been doing my best to clear them before I take pictures, short of becoming a part-time gardener.

John McNaughton in Wilimgton, Ca
I want to thank you so much for putting up the entry for John McNaughton who died in 1888 in wilmington. He brought his family along with a sister to wilmington sometime between 1870 and 1873 and although I knew his family was back in Troy, NY by 1890, I was not sure what year he actually died. Your post gave me that info. He was born in Schaghticoke, Rensselaer Co., NY in 1932 to Thomas and Elizabeth (Mclester) Mcnaughton. Again, thank you as he is there all alone and this has given me a connection.

RE: Duplicates
I saw that. But if you don't want to delete the dupe, then have them merged and nothing will be lost. The alternative would simply be for me to add the info to the original.

RE: My Photo request
Oh that's okay, I believe you did explain that to me before. No problem.

RE: Duplicate memorials
I figured that is what happened, because my originals, for the most part, had incomplete dates, many did not have middle names, etc. And it has taken me this long to have the time to go back and add more information to them. That is how I am discovering your duplicates. I heard about the "de-duper" on the forums; it is not a term that I coined. I just don't think it works very well since it only catches exact matches.

One thing is clear: Since the new burials at G.H. are being added on a daily basis, there won't be a need to try to do the same thing again. To do so would be a waste of time.

At this point, I'm still not done adding info to the 2015 and early 2016 memorials, so I hope you will be patient as I will probably have more dupes for you to delete.

Regards,

B.J.

RE: Gilbert Mervin MacLean
Thanks Warren,
I've reached out to them a few times, they don't seem to be responsive. Guess, I just need to give them more time
Thanks

Gilbert Mervin MacLean
I sent in some updates for Gilbert Mervin MacLean. Not sure if they should go to you or to the folks that maintain the memorial now? Please let me know if there is anything else I can get you for these updates or if I truly need to follow up with them.
Thanks so much
Brian
