Bio Photo I am retired and have returned to the genealogy work that I had set aside a number of years ago. As I have continued my family search, I have found many kind people on this site who have been very helpful in providing information. I try to pass on their kindness when I fulfill photo requests and provide information updates.

Family members have my permission for personal use of my photos and for use in family tree software. I retain all rights to my photos. Professionals do not have permission to provide my photos as a representation of their own work or to charge fees for providing them.

Kemper and Flinn graves
Hello Bob,
SO nice of you to take the time to photograph the two gravestones for me (and others after me.) The photos are very good, and a wonderful addition to my genealogy. Many thanks.

RE: #75067486 Mescher, Bernard Francis, Sr
Frank at Calvary Cemetery just now left a message. Margaret does have a stone, but it is flat and covered with weeds. He pulled them up so that a photographer can get a shot. Do you want to ask for a volunteer photog...or shall I? A Memorial number needs to be assigned as well.

How about John and his 2 daughters who need Memorial numbers and photos? You were in this cemetery first, and I don't want to step on your toes.

RE: #75067486 Mescher, Bernard Francis, Sr
I phoned Calvary Cemetery.
A cemetery employee will walk over to Margaret's burial space this afternoon to see if she has a stone, and then phone me the results. The office records do not show that information, but do indicate that Section 9 Lot 2 is completely filled. Theodor, father of Bernard and Michael, is not buried there.
Unexpected good news is that John Aloysius Mescher and his daughters Dolores and Dorothy, are buried in Section 45, Lot 96. John is a son of Bernard Mescher Sr and his wife Mary C.Spenthoff. I hate to remember how much time I spent looking for his cemetery in New Jersey where he died in 1986. Theodor is NOT buried at Calvary Cemetery according to the office informant.
I have a great deal of information for the family of Bernard and Mary (Spenthoff), culled from census and city directory records.
Today I will link Michael to his brother on Find-A-Grave.

Thank you for the lightning fast response, Bob. I will contact the cemetery first thing in the morning.
Find-A-Grave/Calvary Cemetery fills in family blanks. Bernard Francis Mescher Sr is the brother of Michael Mescher, I believe, and both are the sons of Theodor and Antoinette (Beckering) Mescher who arrived in New York in 1840. The oldest son, Bernard, was born in Germany, and the younger son, Michael, was born in Ottoville, Ohio. Michael is my g.g.grandfather. He married Octavia Seidel and they had 7 children. Eventually Michael and Octavia followed their grown children from Ohio to Washington State.
My Mescher grandparents told me that Michael's parents settled in/near Toledo Ohio after arriving from the old country. Bernard Francis Mescher Sr's family is the only Mescher family I could find in that area, but so far I've been unable to prove a solid connection (although Michael's death certificate points to Antoinette Beckering).
By any chance do you know of a Mescher descendant who is into genealogy that I could contact for confirmation? Wish I had started family research before my parents and their parents passed away. Thank you sincerely for your help. Helen
