RE: Clara M. Atwood
Hi Marcia, yes, I'd be happy to receive any Atwood memorials and Landfords as well since the two families married into one another. My thoughts and prayers are with Sgt. Britt now with the news of his sister in very ill health. Regards, Alan

Clara Lankford
Marcia,

I have sent Alan a message regarding the transfer. Have not heard back from him.

However, if you go to my profile page, look a little below your message to me, and there you will find the subject members ID number you requested, for him.

Thank you, and I also wish you and yours a Happy New Year.

Just to show the importance of this find to you, no one to date that I am aware has ever found any connection of the Atwood families of Westmoreland County, Virginia, Princess Anne County, Virginia, and Franklin County, Ohio together.

My finding Mary Osterman marrying Thomas Atwood in Princess Anne County was key to linking all three families from the three areas into heritage lines connecting all three together as one lineage.

Clara Lankford
Yes, Marcia, I believe that is the one. Her parents were Thomas Atwood and Sarah (Roberts) Atwood, I believe.

I will have the individual contact you, as I did send him a message informing him I would attempt to do what I did.

Thank you,

Ray

Clara M. Lankford, died Sep 4, 1888
Marcia,

Recently you transferred the profile of Thomas Atwood to me, after I sent you information regard him and his family.

I sent another message through another site to another Atwood. Surprised to say the least, I learned he was a relative of Thomas Atwood.

You possess the rights to Clara M. Lankford, grand daughter of Thomas Atwood.

On the Atwood's behalf that I transferred his relative to, I am asking you if you would transfer the above Atwood to him. His name is Alan Atwood, who I have contacted several times, and strongly feel he would certainly receive the two other members under his care.

Thank you for your considerations.

Your comment, "Welcome Home Sgt Britt"
Thank you, Marcia, for your comments about my service.

As a 17 year old Marine, I was very proud of all my many accomplishments within the U. S. Marine Corps.

Thank you again, as I don't get nor have I gotten very many of the kind of comments you posted.

Thank you again, for your comments mean so much to me!

Thomas Atwood, born 1812
Marcia,

Thank you, and as your message came in, I was typing a message to my Atwood family in Virginia.

Perfect timing!

I just learned tonight that the Atwood family was in the Princess Anne County, Virginia in 1691 and probably even before that. That is substantial, as the Atwood family is one of the founding families of Princess Anne County, Virginia, and the family is still going strong today, in what is now known as the City of Virginia Beach, Virginia, due to the small City of Virginia Beach merging with the Princess Anne County, Virginia in January of 1963.

Interesting family as well as interesting city, as in 1963 the city went from a small city to the largest city on the east coast, land wise, overnight, with the stroke of a signature.

The wife of Thomas Atwood of the Shenandoah, Virginia area, did marry Sarah from Princess Anne County, Virginia.

Sorry to have missed the two others, but that's fine. Probably Catherine's families have it in their possession.

Just hope they eventually look for their Thomas Atwood, the father and see what will transpire.

Thank you for the transfer, as it is a very difficult family to connect, because the Atwood family of Princess Anne County, is very much kin to the Atwood family from Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

This Atwood family progenitor was a John Johannes Atwood of Boston, Masschusetts, but did have a fellow Atwood, Alice (Atwood) Mullins, on the Mayflower.

Alice, husband William, and one of their children (a young boy) did not make it through the first starving/sickness winter. However, their oldest daughter, Prisilla, did. She later went on to marry John Alden, the cooper from the Mayflower, where John became a very important leader of the 1st norther colony of Plymouth.

Ironically, one of John's great grand daughters, married into the William Brett (born 1618 in Hastings, England) line. This William is one of my distant cousins, along with his cousin, Mary (Brett) Isham, who gave birth to a Mary Isham.

This Mary Isham married into the Randolph family of Virginia, and became known as the "Adam and Eve" of Virginia, through her influence. Her husband, William Randolph, is connected to Thomas Jefferson, and who are the 7th or 8th great grandparents of Thomas Jefferson, who also is kin to the President George Washington.

I've done my homework!

Thank you again for transferring the grave of Thomas to me.

Incorrect cemetery for Carrie A. Wood Wilkins
Hello,
You added Memorial #78724855 for Carrie A. Wood Wilkins, second wife of David W. Wilkins, #53441337 in Mount Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery. While David Wilkins was buried there (with spouse #1), Carrie A Wilkins was not.
There is a Memorial #95776963 with photo of her marker in Find A Grave listed as Carrie Aurora Wood Wilkins (with same birth & death dates as your memorial) in Union Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio. This is the same cemetery where Carrie's first husband, Thomas Clark Johnston was buried. Please remove your Memorial for her rather than changing the cemetery location as it will be a duplicate.
Thanks, S. Widmayer, #48031917
