Are you related to the Parent family of Canada? Charles F. Parent is the brother of my great-great-great grandfather Joseph J. Parent, who immigrated to the US in 1882 and moved to DC.

That does sound about right except for the spelling of the last name. Was the entry from the cemetery records or a grave marker.
