|TracyJames50||Headstone Photo's for Seth, Fanny & David WILLIAMS|
I went to Taita Cemetery & the sexton & I, with map in hand, went and found the plot for Seth, Fanny & David Williams. I took quite a few photo's, have added a couple to Find A Grave but if you email me I'll send you the others...email addy is below.
Unfortunately the grave is very hard to read due to lichen and weathering but the sexton said if I was careful I could try pumice & soapy water so if you'd like me to I can try this. Long story but we got interrupted by some very eager prison workers, who they get to help maintain the cemetery gardens, wanting to get home so I didn't have the time to try and transcribe any of it but am happy to have a go next time I pop up to take more photo's :-).

Have printed off what you sent me and will ask the sexton when I next go to cemetery.....the burial info you gave should help him heaps hopefully :-).
The headstone you refer to will probably be in Old Taita Cemetery.
Will get back to you as soon as I hopefully have photo's or know more.
Just as a bit of a coincidence your Williams' lived at 40 Fitzherbert and I lived at 44 Fitzherbert many moons ago....can take a photo of the Williams' house if you want? Pretty sure they're all still the original houses down that street.
I did a bit more digging as I was curious why I couldn't find a burial for any of them and the funeral notice for Fanny WILLIAMS says that she was to be buried at Taita Cemetery on 18 Jul 1939. I know the sexton at Taita Cemetery so will ask him to have a look at the records and will hopefully be able to find the headstone and take some photo's for you...fingers, toes and eyes crossed!!! :-)

I was going to photograph the headstone for Seth, Fanny & David WILLIAMS that you requested but according to the cemetery records for Taita none of them are buried there. I also checked the cemetery records for Wellington Region and also Upper Hutt Region and they're not listed there. When I went to each of the people you've listed there is a headstone photo showing on each persons profile so am a little confused?....Do you actually know where they are buried or are you going by the death notice in newspaper?
