I'm a retired teacher from Wisconsin who became interested in genealogy in the fall of 2012. I'm looking forward to learning more about ways to find out information about my ancestors and my husband's ancestors.|
I am more than happy to make additions and/or corrections to memorials. Please use the edit key rather than leaving a public message. If you are a relative and would like to have a memorial transferred to you, please submit that request through the edit key as well. If I am not a relative, I will be happy to transfer the memorial to you.
When I take photos at cemeteries, I like to take a wide shot if possible to include other family members. I usually create a caption for the photo saying who is in the photo. To see the caption, just double click on the photo.
I am granting permission to use any photos that I have taken for any non-commercial use. It would be appreciated if you would acknowledge that the photo came from me. Please feel free to use them on family trees and other websites.
Please check out the virtual cemeteries that I have been working on. If you have any information that you would like to share with me, please use the edit key or send me a public message through Find A Grave.
I enjoy photographing entire cemeteries, creating new memorials, and adding photos to existing memorials. I try to do a quick search to see if I can document family relationships. Before I go on to the next cemetery, I try to make sure that duplicate memorials have been removed and all memorials are actually in the correct cemetery (when possible).
Listed below are the cemeteries I have completed so far by county. The first year listed is the year I photographed the entire cemetery. The second year, if listed, is the year I last walked through the entire cemetery again looking for updates.

Note: 99.9% of all Find A Grave contributors are wonderful people. However, there are a few people who operate outside of the Find A Grave guidelines. There are some people who create memorials for relatives and list them as "burial unknown". They wait for photo volunteers like me to find their relatives and create memorials for them in a given cemetery. Then after the relative is found, the person sends a request to remove the "duplicate" record. This has happened to me on more than one occasion! Please don't do this to Find A Grave contributors who work hard walking local cemeteries and taking countless photos.
If I happen to find one of your relatives you have been looking for, please send me a thank you through the edit key, remove your memorial, and request a transfer. I will be more than happy to honor your request. I might even be willing to move my photos over to your memorial and delete mine under certain circumstances.
If you decide to not play by the Find A Grave rules, I will report the incident to Find A Grave, and let them resolve the situation.

|MaryLynn Strickland||Mary Wood stone|
Hello and thank you so much for all your efforts. Volunteers like you are priceless!
Regarding the stone for Mary Wood in the Woodville Cemetery, Deerfield, Waushara County, I have a suggestion and please don't take it as criticism. Sometimes the shadowed side of stones can be read a little more easily if we can direct some light onto them. I have found a reflective dashboard cover, the accordion folded type, to be invaluable. Stand it up on the ground or have a helper hold it to reflect sunlight onto that shadowed surface. Playing with the angles can help, too.
This Wood family has been so illusive for 10 or 12 years, I snatch every crumb of information I can find. Thank you again for what you have given us.
Hello Ms. Janet Marie,
It looks like they the memorials transferred ok. I just want to say thank you so very much. My uncle, aunt and my cousin
All were very close to me. The other two Clouse memorials are
Are not related directly to me.
Once again many thanks for your time and efforts in this matter.
If I can ever be of any assistance to you, don't hesitate to ask. I enjoy helping others when I can.

I am aware of various spellings of the name but sometimes makes it difficult for others. I have several Oaks (es) and in the same family there are different spellings!
I also noted the problem with others entering a memorial after you had already done it. I'm not sure how F.A.G. handles this but I would think the person who had originally entered it should remain in control and the other should ask for transfer.
I would suggest asking in the forums about this.

Hi Janet, Thank you so much! It's great to know where they are buried and to connect them to family. I really appreciate it! Mary

Yes Jane Mills Booth was married before to Stephen Booth. His brother Henry Booth was married to Ellen Swannell. Jane was the daughter of Thomas Mills and Anna Bowers from England. Her sister Sarah Mills married Peter Cockroft. I think Stephen Booth was killed in the Civil War but not sure I can't find anything much on him.
