It all started years ago, when my grandmother had her ancestry traced back to the poet, Percy Bysshe Shelley. I thought that was pretty cool. Then a handful of old family photos surfaced, and a few colorful stories of my ancestors told to me by my mother got me hooked. All of a sudden, I have a new hobby. I am very new at this, and the information to be found is staggering. It is like a treasure hunt! I also love to visit cemeteries, and on walks I find myself wandering through, looking at the graves. I find them very poignant. As a child, my mother would take my brother and me to the Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Danville, Illinois to see the swans. I learned to drive in the Spring Hill Cemetery (I guess I couldn't do anyone harm there!) As I embark on this new adventure, I am hoping to be able to contribute information that others can use as well. Any of the photos I have contributed may be used for genealogical purposes.
