Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi,

I have been doing genealogy for 30 years. I started doing cemeteries about 10 years ago. Surnames: Bolon, Mead, Short, Strobel, Clausen, Bounds, Woodman, Fontaine, Bissonnet, Drouillard, Robert, Valiquet, Terrien, DuPuis and Berg. Please verify what you take from the internet.

Husbands Lines: Portmann from Switzerland, Mitchell, Carbaugh, Longstreth and Winebrenner from Pennsylvania.

Please include your relationship to the memorial and member number for transfers. If they are not my family I will seriously consider transferring to a family member.

I filmed all of Mountain View Cemetery in Connell WA., May 2011.

Pleasant View Cemetery, Mondovi, WA has also been filmed, May 2011. Filmed additional monuments added in May of 2013 and May of 2014.

Saint Antoine Cemetery Monroe county Michigan. I am currently working on updating this cemetery. I used Denissen's and Souls of St. Antoine Cemetery for my research on this cemetery. Please seek your own documentation for cemeteries. Find A Grave is a starting place. Records can be wrong, but they do help us find a starting place. Happy to share records for this cemetery. March 2013.

I am wondering if you can help me with some information on Margaret LeBeau Couture. Your memorial. In Wikitree it shows that she was married to Stephen Couture but you list her husband as Etienne Couture. Can you tell me where this information came from?

RE: Daniel Axford
Sounds like a good idea to pull death certificate to be sure. Found his obit on my desk that I pulled on 1-25-2014 for Carla when looking for one on Ermil for her memorial at Mt. View Cemetery. Starts as: Daniel Clinton Axford, age 75, Oregon City, May 13; father of Mrs. Ermil Bingham Duncan, Oregon City etc. etc. I saw where he had already been put on Rivervierw Abbey Mausoleum site so just laid aside to take to the Family History Library next week when they are open once again. Daniel lived on my street still in 1958 and shown as a retired worker at the local mill and in 1962 as in Gladstone. Fun to have a lot of research books at home as can no longer volunteer at library.

Anita,
No, I do not have proof of where Daniel died except that in 1940 Census he lived at 161 Linn Ave. and had for some years. I also live on this street further up the hill so know where the house is.

You're very welcome. You are correct about it being confusing as the early records are non existent.

The records for the Colfax Cemetery from 1873-1926 were destroyed in a wild land fire in 1926. The workers at the cemetery at the time, recreated the plot map book from memory, so it's quite likely that even though we may know someone is buried there, knowing exactly where they are, is another thing.

We have walked, shot, and posted a pic on findagrave of every tombstone there. Now we are working on adding back those people that had no tombstone, or had a wood one that was destroyed in the fire.

I have shot pics of the funeral records from 1873 through 1916 and am working on adding them back. It's often difficult because it doesn't always say which cemetery they were buried in, or the cemetery names are no longer used, or the name on the record is not the same name they were buried under, etc. Colfax is our default cemetery for those burials handled by Bruning, because of this it's best to search Whitman County, as we have the same issue with the cemetery records from Greenwood in Palouse.

The funeral records create a starting point; then I look for a death notice, obit, or other information, to go along with it.

Find a grave is such a great resource. However I always cringe a bit when someone tells me a cemetery is complete because they shot all the tombstones.

Unless one gets their hands on the records, they will leave out a whole lot of people, that no one will ever find.

Because I always work from actual cemetery records, I have learned that just because someone isn't listed in the official "records" does not mean they are, or are not buried in any certain cemetery, as the record keeping was atrocious.

RE: Beatrice Logsdon
Hi Anita,

Sorry, I misunderstood you. You were asking about John Elliott Knowles. This was only based on my assumption that they shared the same tombstone. Sorry about that. I guess we not know for awhile as the 1950's census won't be available for some time.

I do have his WWI draft card that does lists Agnes Ellen Knowles as the nearest relative. There is a grave memorial #:14017975 that shows a person matching that name in the same cemetery as the Logsdon family. I was able to find her maiden name is McGarvey and they married November 12, 1908. I would have to research more to see if I can find if they got married after their spouses both passed away, or if she's related some other way to John. I'll let you know once/if I find more information.

I'm actually related through her mother's sister: Catherine Isabelle (Kate) Hopkins who married John Pfrimmer Kenoyer (my 3rd great grand uncle). Let me know if you want more information on the Kenoyer side of the family as I have tons of information left by my grand aunt who was active on here before she passed away a few years ago.

RE: Beatrice Logsdon Edwards ??
Hi Anita,

Here is what I've found:

Here are the obituaries for her parents: http://wagenweb.org/lincoln/individualsobituaries.html

For her father, it lists her at Mrs. CHARLES M. EDWARDS. For her mother, it lists her as BEATRICE EDWARDS.

Washington, Marriage Records, 1865-2004
Lists that they married on February 24, 1923 in Spokane
