I am a retired Fisheries Research Biologist after earning BS and MS degrees in Fisheries Science from Humboldt State University, Arcata, CA. My mother, Lettie Hannah (Rushton) McGie, and her sister, Veda, earlier researched our family and prepared binders to present to family members. They worked without the benefit of all the wonderful resources available on the internet. I have taken up where they left off and have been researching the names McGie, Rushton, Baker, Schmidt, Ward, Chase, Powell, and Johnson. My father was adopted by the McGie family. His mother was Mamie Johnson who named him Roscoe Gilbert Johnson before he was renamed Joseph Franklin McGie by his adopted parents. On my wife's side of her family, I have been researching Byram, Biggs, Wolber, Goolsby, Embry, and Ball.|
All this work has led to many enlightening insights about where we came from and the many travails our ancestors faced in their lives. It is a humbling, but exhilarating, experience!

Do you know if Ruby S. Ellis, who is buried in Parks Cem., Scott county, Ark. (near Waldron, Ark.), was she married to Clyde Ellis (burial location unknown)? If Ruby and Clyde were married, then I believe their son, Herman Don Ellis could be their son. Herman has just passed away and will be buried in Hawkin s Cemetery, near Waldron, Ark., Scott county.

Mr McGie, John W Wolber would have been my father's uncle. Benjamin was my grandfather. I have searched for many years trying to find out what happened to Benjamin. Do you have any information on what happened to him after 1925 or where he died? Would greatly appreciate any information you might have on Benjamine.
