I am a professional photographer and genealogist (over 50 years), and long time historian of Coleman County, Texas (over 40 years). Over 20 years ago, I, along with my wife, Judia, and Vena Bob Gates, published all of the marked grave inscriptions in Coleman County, Texas in the 3 volume, "Coleman County Cemetery Inscriptions." I also have these records online at www.colemanhistory.com.|
Judia and I both continue to visit cemeteries, but I do all the computer work. Judia is an artist and does not relate to computers ... she is soooo lucky!
I have welcomed FindAGrave to help carry on what myself, my wife and others are doing to keep local history information available and not forgotten. I began in the middle of March 2011 adding burials that have not been added for Coleman County.
I look forward to hearing from anyone interested in the cemeteries and history of Coleman County. Ralph Terry, Coleman, Texas.

Dear Mr. Terry,

Ollie was a 1st cousin, one of 3 daughters of the Payne family. There was a foster daughter, Exa Maurine Hedrick, my grandmother.
I am interested in getting Exa listed as a foster sister on Ollie's record. I am also trying to get her listed on Ollie's sisters records and Ollie's mother's record, too.
You see, Ollie's mother was also Exa's aunt, the eldest daughter in that family. Exa's mother was the youngest daughter in that family, and she died at age 22 in childbirth with Exa. Her young husband gave the baby to Ollie's other and left Texas for good.
Thank you for posting this grave. I never knew Ollie or her family, and my grandmother Exa never spoke much of her early life. She was like a 4th daughter to the Paynes and should be linked with them though, as information.
Thank you again,

Would you please remove the newspaper article from this memorial. This is against Find A Grave policy, and this type of article can be very disturbing to some people.
