I've been one of my family's "historians" for over 10 years, researching our family trees, and I totally enjoy it. |
Taking photographs of headstones and submitting cemetery information is such vital work, because it helps people locate their loved ones. The headstone photograph helps to document it, since many times these precious artifacts are vandalized or damaged by weather and age. I find great joy in helping others find their family members.
I have been in process of transcribing all the cemeteries in Jim Wells County, TX since 2004. Every so often, I'll do some in San Patricio and Nueces Counties.
Please note that I photograph & transcribe entire cemeteries & do not catch duplicates until I'm ready to upload photos. So if you spot a duplicate, then click the "Edit" button at the memorial & let me know about it. Thanks!
Please click the "Edit" button at the memorial to notify me of any corrections, additions, adding relationship links or to request transfers. This process will work quicker & better than emailing me or leaving a message here
I love uniting the memorials I've created with their family.

RE: Henry J. Dahse, Memorial# 18073730
Merline S. Dahse, Memorial# 18073708
Both in Orange Grove's Sons of Hermann Cemetery.
I sent you a personal e-mail regarding the above two memorials, but not until after I sent it did I find that your e-mail address listed on your profile is no longer active.
Anyway, on a recent visit to South Texas and to the Sons of Hermann Cemetery in Orange Grove on Tuesday, Sept. 29th, I took a photo of the headstone of Henry and Merline Dahse that now shows Henry's date of death. While the two memorials that you created have photos of the headstone before Henry's death, I went ahead and added the new photos. It will be your decision which photos you want to retain. I also added close-up photos showing Henry's and Merline's dates of birth and death.
Thank you for all the work you do in the cemeteries of Jim Wells and San Patricio Counties. My wife has family members buried in both counties, and her parents are buried in the Sons of Hermann Cemetery. My parents are buried in Alice Fraternal Cemetery.

Charlie, I tried to email to your email address but it was invalid. Here is my email:
Last year, you didn't want to link Lola to the people I believe are her parents:
WH Belt, Find A Grave Memorial# 109718766 Ella Belt, Find A Grave Memorial# 109718570
because you had a census record from IL showing mother was Esther.
Attached is the info from Lola's SS application, showing Ella to be her mother. Also I found the 1910 census record for her in OK, not IL, as well as the 1920 census record for her in Hood Co, TX.
*** Note that I cannot attached her SS app here in Find A Grave (that was why I tried to email you) but you give me a valid email address, I will email it to you). ***
Really, she is not a direct relative of mine so I guess I don't care much (or I wouldn't have waited a year to get back to you!). I was back then following the Belts thru Texas because my great great grandmother was a Belt and her brother was an ancestor of Lola.

Are you still photographing in the above cemetery in Nueces County? If so, I have one I am in need of. Please let me know and I will forward the memorial number.

Good Afternoon, Charlie,
Re: Norman Willie DeReese, Find-a-Grave Memorial # 18075455.
Mr. DeReese is my father-in-law. If you would be willing to transfer management of his memorial to me, I would be very appreciative. Thank you for all you do for Find-a-Grave in Jim Wells County and the surrounding area.
I tried to contact you via the e-mail address shown on your member information page. It did not work. You might want to check it for accuracy.

Charlie I emailed you today, but it came back wrong address. Would you send me correct one? Had done work on Phillips today and needed some feedback. Thanks
|R. Janzen||William and Cordelia Price|
I am researching William Price's line and wondered if you are possibly related to him and know more about him. He is my grandfather Joseph Price's identical twin brother. I know we have a lot of Ward relatives so thought there might be a chance you had more information. Here is the link to William Prices page: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=42143553
Thank you so much for photographing and adding William to findagrave! I appreciate it!

Do you suppose anyone can be contacted to see if this is where her parents Noah and Louisa Hancock of Randolph County, North Carolina are buried? They were on the 1900 census in Gonzales County, Texas. Another brother Levi Hancock went to Callahan County, Texas but no sign of any of Noah's kin there. Seems like Noah and Louisa Hancock found their final rest here. Barbara Tynes Claiborne
Charlie, Could you get in touch with me? Email I sent bounced back. I have made several edits to memorials in the Argenta Cemetery. Wanted to make sure you knew about them. Thanks!
