Please understand that I have no control over the names, words and dates engraved on stones, written on death certificates or provided in obituaries. I didn't write them. I'm only providing those previously written words to you.

I have been a contributor on this site for over 14 years, so yes it stands to reason that I have a fair number of memorials that I have entered, added to and lovingly care take even though they may not be a branch of my own family. It's quite possible that if I had not entered the memorial to begin with, you may not have been able to find them.

Individuals using this site need to realize that we are all volunteers and do not need to deal with abusive behavior or rudeness just because we won't make a transfer to someone who has registered two days or two months ago and want every memorial on the site with the surname of Jones. Or a transfer of a memorial of someone who they think just might be a fifth cousin, four times removed of their third ex-husband.

If you are new to this site, PLEASE read the "Frequently Asked Questions" located "HERE". If you take just a moment to familiarize yourself with these guidelines, it will definitely help yours and everyone else's state of mind, blood pressure and headaches.

If you will please use the "Edit" tab located on each memorial, I will be more than happy to correct, edit or add information to a memorial that is meaningful. I will not add all of the information from the past ten census records that have been released or any distasteful or disturbing messages.

Please be kind. We all make mistakes from time to time. If I have made a mistake or created a duplicate memorial later than one you have created, please use the "Edit" tab and send me the correction or let me know of the duplication and it will be taken care of quickly.

I will make transfers using the "Guidelines" if they are not a relative of mine. I will transfer your children, siblings, parents, grandparents or great-grandparents. All other requested transfers will be considered if you use the "Edit" feature and state your relationship or intended need for the memorial.

Lastly and most importantly, there are so many absolutely wonderful people that use Find-A-Grave! I am very appreciative for all of the suggested corrections, additional information and photos that have been provided. Please don't allow the rude, abusive and sometimes rather bizarre behavior of individuals to curb your enthusiasm or your want to help others.

Warm regards,
Joan

Elizabeth Full - Rose Hill, Hagerstown
You send me an edit for Elizabeth Full in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown, and since I did not recognize your name I clicked at your profile page. It is well written and I agree with everything you said. Keep up the good work.

RE: Abert W. West
I found an article online that went back to their buggy days amd they were suing the railroad because it spooked their horse and caused injury to the wife. Fascinating.

Abert W. West
I called Mission Burial Park North and they confirmed he and his wife were interred on the same day, 28 June 1983, at MBPN. I updated the Find A Grave memorial and then transferred management over to you. You can change any of the bio you want. That sure was an interesting family for sure.

Charles Probandt and Elizabeth Probandt
Joan, I wanted to let you know that I sent an edit through on both Charles 58471354 and Elizabeth 58471478 memorials to delete Dorothea as their mother. My research for the 1860 and 1870 census and their death certificates show that their mother was actually Bertha Probandt. I'm still trying to find out what her maiden name was and when she died. Dorothea must have married Carl Louis after Bertha passed away. Please let me know if you have questions. thanks, Lesly

LTC George D. Smith
The LTC was buried with his wife and I would like to find out if there is any way I can find out when they were married. Is this possible.

2 Ida Weyels
Thanks for finding and posting those obituaries. I think the plot thickens. In addition to Theodore Weyel marrying both Ida Braun and Ida Ruempel - Ida Ruempel first married Heinrich Scheffler.

Apparently Theodore and Ida Braun had son Arthur Weyel while Heinrich and Ida Ruempel had son Emil Scheffler. Then Theodore Weyel married Ida Ruempel Scheffler and they treated the boys (born a year apart both in Dec!) as brothers.

Ida Ruempel Scheffler Weyel's obit and Theodore Weyel's obit both mention both boys as surviving sons. The obit you posted for Theodore calls Emil, Amiel Scheffler.

I couldn't write a better soap opera script if I tried!
