Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am constantly tramping through cemeteries in Starke and Lake Counties, Indiana, looking for relatives for the family tree. If I can help someone else in the process, I'd be glad to. If someone wants a memorial transferred, just ask. I'm focusing on the last names of Gappa, Lemke, Huebner, Schacht, Keehn, Byer, Haley, Helms, Giffin, Wilhelm, Schnaufer, and Kaiser for me while I'm working on Swatts, Brooke, Johnson, Mathias, and Vanaman for my cousin.

RE: Charles Drown
We are familiar with the free gravestones, but that does not include having the stone set which can cost several hundred dollars. We have helped several families in requesting stones for relatives, but cannot pay for setting stones ourselves because of the number involved. Thank you for "preserving" the paper you found. We always hope that family members will see the memorials and check into getting stones. The other issue is proving that someone is buried is a particular cemetery. We have found many with military stones who also have family stones or even another military stone in a different cemetery. We are working now with a large old cemetery to get stones for 15-20 CW veterans. Ideally every CW veteran would have a stone, but that is easier said than done.

Thank you for adding the Civil War paper for Mr. Drown. It adds a lot to his memorial.

RE: Anne Kistler Rutledge
Actually there are two Anne Rutledges and the cemetery gave me the location for the other one. I didn't notice until I uploaded the photo. I'm in the process of getting the correct location. Sorry for the mix-up!

RE: Charles E Gardner
Not sure about taking it over I'm not familiar enough with how it all works? And yes Snuffer is my married name. Dan Snuffer my husband who's father Carlos Holmes Snuffer and yes I am aware of the name change. The Snuffers are a mystery to me my husband doesn't remember many names he was quite young when he visited last and his Father passed a while ago. I follow a site called My WV Mountain Family are you aware of the site?
Thank you for offering the memorial I will learn more about how it works and get back to you as soon as I feel comfortable.

RE: Robert Fellnagel
I have his burial permit still. I also need to know if this star on stone means something. I am sorry i don't know this information. Thank you for your help.
