How do you know the Del Bel Family
Hi there,
My name is Shea (sounds like SHAY) and I am a passionate genealogist.
I am connected to the Del Bel Family by marriage to the Blahey family. I saw that you posted a photo of Kathryn Ann Del Bel's gravemarker here on Find a Grave only 2 days after she died.
This made me wonder if maybe you were at her funeral. I am wondering how you got a photo of her gravemarker so soon after her death. Are you connected to the Del Bel family somehow?
If you could fill me in on this I would be ever so grateful.
Thank you so much,
From Shea B Springford

New Leipzig Bapt.
I think I may have found part of the problem and this one didn't involve you. The manager of Emil Kallis (d. 17 Nov 2010) put him in New Leipzig Baptist, but if you look at his memorial, his obit is posted and includes his burial place and it is: "Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery, north of New Leipzig." I searched for this cemetery on Find A Grave and it is listed as Ebenezer Cemetery in Elgin, ND. If you look at the map for this cemetery, it is much closer to New Leipzig than Elgin and is indeed northwest of New Leipzig. There are other Kallis burials in this cemetery as well, but no duplicate for Emil. I will write Teddy, the manager and have that one moved. So the first thing I can do, is look at those 49 memorials and see if any others have obits with burial info. I'll do that part and write manager if I find more like this.

RE: New Leipzig Baptist Cem in Grant Co, ND.
That would be wonderful if you could visit the other cemeteries in town; you may find some of those without markers... do have markers elsewhere. I wish we had had more time...just had the one day and didn't even plan to do the Baptist Cemetery, except that it was across the road and not that many markers. I clean off the markers and my husband does the photography and he actually suggested we do it too. Church records would be of great help too. We did drive into town and noted there were several churches, but didn't find a Congregational...probably has changed its name. There was a Baptist Church.

Yes, I know what you mean about wooden crosses etc., but in this cemetery, that would not seem to be the case to me, as it would be very out of character with the rest of the cemetery and the 49 without markers are all different years....from older to very recent. I would like to work on getting this straightened out, but since I live in South Carolina and we were just traveling through (had a relative in the Congregational Cemetery), we won't be back. Do you know if there are N.Dakota death certificates on line? I haven't taken time to look. It was interesting to know your source for the many you have kindly added to the cemeteries in the area. What would be your plan of attack to see if we can figure out who is where?

New Leipzig Baptist Cem in Grant Co, ND.
Donald, I think that you may have a bunch of memorials listed in this cemetery that are not correct. My husband and I photographed the entire cemetery this last week and it is pretty well contained in 3 rows back from the front fence (see photo) and there are no large spaces between markers for unmarked graves. There is a large space beyond the 3 rows, but no evidence of any burials there. When you go to this cemetery and click on "View on All Interments (125), a list of All Names comes up. Go to All Names and the arrow next to it and change it to "Names With No Grave Photo" and wait a second and you will then have a list of 49 people with no grave marker; most of which you have created. I'm sorry, but that is just literally impossible. Some are early death dates and some more recent. There just aren't 49 burials (out of 125) behind the 3 rows for those without a grave marker. I could believe many 10 without a marker, but not 49!!
Please review how you determine that these 49 are buried in the New Leipzig Baptist Cemetery. There are other cemeteries in New Leipzig; perhaps they should be moved to one of those. Let me know your thoughts.
