Bio and Links
Bio Photo PLEASE do not take my photos (family pictures or grave photos) and use elsewhere, especially Ancestry, without my permission. There's personal family photos I've never even uploaded to Ancestry but have ONLY placed on Find A Grave that have been taken and put on other's Ancestry trees, and they aren't even related to us!! Really??????

Most of my work is from "mowing the rows" in our local cemeteries or in those that are special to me when I get a chance to visit. I try to be very thorough in what I do post to this site. My favorite part of contributing to Find A Grave is walking the cemeteries and taking photos. ACCURATE cemetery documentation is very important, and this is why I do what I do.
.
I love to research and link families, and add biographical information - please use the Edit tab and send me any information you would like to have added, and I will add based on the rules for bios set in the Find A Grave FAQ's.
.
I transfer only within the four-generation
Find-A-Grave guidelines.
.
PLEASE carefully check the cemetery in which you want to list a memorial (it doesn't hurt to quickly check the county too) BEFORE you list it, as one may already exist for that person. Duplicate memorials for the same person, ("Dupes"), whether accidental or intentional, are not allowed by F-A-G. Duplicates erode the quality of this site and are problematic for many reasons. I will send you a friendly SAC if I see one.
.
It is very sad that quite a few contributors continue to misuse this site and post entries as permanent BURIAL UNKNOWN, both recent deaths and those 100 years ago or more.
This is Find A GRAVE, not a memorial site for generations of folks who have passed on and we do not know where they are buried, or for certain what happened to their remains.
.
I do not add entries for those with unknown dispositions (Burial Unknown) to Find A Grave. I also will not link my managed memorials to those without proper dispositions. Please do not link any BURIAL UNKNOWN entries to the memorials I manage; I will request the links to be removed if I become aware they have been linked.
.
PLEASE realize this is a GRAVES REGISTRATION SITE, not a place for you to build your family tree :) If you do not know where the person was buried, or the final disposition of the remains, you should not be listing the person on FIND A GRAVE.
.
The most recent FAQ's regarding the purpose of this site:
What is Find A Grave?
Find a Grave's mission is to find, record
and present final disposition information
from around the world as a virtual cemetery experience.

Memorial contributions to Find A Grave should fulfill that mission - registration
of the final disposition.
If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the
main mission, then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission.

Find a Grave memorials may contain rich content including pictures, biographies and more specific information. Members can
leave remembrances via ‘virtual flowers' on the memorials they visit, completing the virtual cemetery experience.

Find A Grave is a resource for anyone in finding the final disposition of family,
friends, and ‘famous' individuals.

.
Find A Grave is definitely a genealogical RESOURCE, but not a genealogical SITE..... There's a difference :)

RE: Marvie Rowe Pruitt.
There are no such Find A Grave "Rules". I have asked Find A Grave Staff to add information including multiple married names and they have done so. This program is not a Find A Grave program any longer, it is an Ancestry.com program as they bought Find A Grave out last year. Please do not place yourself as a "Monitor" for content or actions for Ancestry.com. If all that you ay is correct, then why does the format provide for linkages to parents, all spouses, children, siblings, and a Bio. There is nothing else to provide for a posting of one's genealogy. Simply stated Find A Grave is not simply a grave directory, or registry. It is in fact a pathway to genealogy.

Marvie Rowe Pruitt.
I do not now who you are, or what relationship to have to Marvie, but I find your "suggestion" quite disturbing. Perhaps you can tell me just how she got her "Roe" children without a marriage. You must know that "Roe" and "Rowe" are variations of the same family name. There are no Pruitt children listed in her obituary at all. Perhaps you, or others, wish she had not married Malon Bennie Rowe, and that is the reason for the spelling change, but that marriage is fact. I believe that Ancestry.com has a difference of opinion with you as to what Find A Grave really is, and is not.

RE: Thank you for the lovely token
Karen, I will definitely search for the Bay Ridge H.S. Yearbook at Ancestry. You are correct, my Mom did graduate in January. Her education at BRHS was so thorough she was able to rise to the position of office manager/secretary by the time she was 19 years old. It was a very small law firm. I've added you to my Friends List. Please stay in touch.

I added her maiden name...been working off and on on this cemetery, trying to get information straight. She would be a distant cousin of mine....I am an Addington Descendant.

Effie Brown
The name change to Effie Brown allowed the cemetery office to locate her but as you can see on the photo the stone itself says 'Helen Fisher Brown'. Buried by her is a possible son? named Jerry Alton Brown, SGT US Air Force, Vietnam, Oct 21, 1949--Sep 27, 1993.
