The Recording of a Cemetery
Thelma Greene Reagan
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where others cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In a heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw there the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lied beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

I was going on the Inky article. I'm ok with you leaving that part unchanged as it is disputed. The dates are on the marker, and site preference is to follow the marker and put discrepancies in notes, which is why I submitted the date updates. I'll resubmit that change without the country change.

Transcribing some of your photos from this cemetery at the moment...just a quick suggestion. Could you take your photos from the front, more on the level with the stone? All the pix so far have been shot from above and are tough to read, especially the dates.

Thank you very much for taking this photo.
Happy new year!
Thanks for adding the pictures to Anna Boggs memorial.

It appears that her memorial 165239669
is a duplicate of mine. I'm curious as to how her name came to be transcribed in all caps?

Here's another example...
Your photo for
Dominic V Bisanzio
& Eleanor Bisanzio
appears to be a "pre-need" stone; both individuals probably still living.
If you can't determine if they have indeed passed on, you should delete the pre-need memorials.
I think one of the monument companies doing business in that area must have had a big sale on pre-need stones. ^_^
You can browse your own listings and probably find several more without death dates that shouldn't be on Find A Grave.

For an example of photos you uploaded without a date of death, see your memorial for Jessie Alfaro.
There are 4 names on the stone. It appears to me that Jessie and Antonio are parents who lost two infants; Rose and Benjamin and are likely still living themselves. The "genius" who transcribed the photo also entered the names in ALL CAPS which is against Find A Grave's naming conventions.
If you agree with my interpretation, I would recommend deleting the memorials for Jessie Alfaro and Antonio Jose Reckner and correcting the all caps on Rose & Benjamin.

I want to thank you for your time in taking the photo of my Aunt, she was a pistol of a lady, and her stone was perfect. Please have a wonderful Holiday Season with your family,
